I have an 87 Chevy Custom Deluxe V10 4wd with a 4 in suspension lift. My problem is that as I drive and try to take a gentle left hand turn I meet resistance at about 10/11 oclock. When I apply more force the resistance lets loose and I dart to the left. It seems to happen at speeds over 40 mph. New gear box, tie rods, drag link steering stabilizer. The rubber boot on my steering shaft does have a hole in it. Would that cause my problem ? I can't find a replacement boot ( discontinued ). Any help is appreciated.

You need a drop pitman arm with 4" lift. Your binding your steering where it connects to drag link the arm off the steering box is too short

Ok I had asked local mechanics about needing a steering arm because of the lift and they said no but I wasn't really feeling good about their knowledge base. What make / kind would be best ? BTW thanks for the fast help.

Summit has the raised steering arms, I think just about every company that sells any parts for lifting our trucks should sell them.

This symptom also describes old front axle u-joints going bad and binding up (been living with this for a few months now). So, check those too.
