87 K5 Build...Hmmm, whats that Ryoken up to? stay tuned...

So you turn your ankle then smash yourleg. Seems you'r getting your body work out of the way faster than you though :haha:

I like the transfer case. Mine still weighs about 20lbs heavier than normal cause of the dirt and grime

Different camera ? The color seems....Vibrant....

That's Ryoken for you - he puts a little bit of himself into everything he works on. :yikes:

:haha:

I have a rule as a marine mechanic, if I bleed on your exterior gelcoat, it gets cleaned... blood stains gel pretty good... if I bleed in your interior, it gets cleaned...

but if I bleed in your engine room/bilge, it is left as war wound history! :wink1:

gonna be dragging this around like a dead fish tomorrow... the point of the skeg went in about an inch, it's oozed blood thru the gauze, but it's the "hit" I'm gonna feel the worst... :( normally I have bags of ice on my knees, tonight it's on this... :doah:

eh, whats done is done.... besides, chicks dig scars! :haha:

hopefully i'll get my speedo gear tomorrow so i can finish up the t-case... tho from now till memorial day my bosses have my soul.... :doah::(

Hell I busted open kind of like that 2 Sundays ago. Should of had it sewed up, but just butter flied it.

yeah, looking at it now, it definitely could have used a dozen stitches or so... this ones gonna take a long time to heal...

Yup mine isn't look to good today after a long hard day of work

dont look good.i had one of those last year from a grind rail.front of my board caught the shin and scraped it to the bone.keep it clean.it took like a month to heal.

and for those non-boating types, here's what fell on me.... the guillotine looking bottom skeg is what impaled me........

i actually looked it up today to see how close i was on weight... i said 150, it's 148..... :eek1: good guess! :haha:

No wonder my back gets all fubared in the winter, carrying them things around all the time.... :doah::(

Dam, that had to hurt worse then what I did. Your lucky you didn't brake your leg.

yeah, I'm hobbling around pretty good... think it's more the trauma/bruising/shock to the area, than the deep cut.. regretting not going to the hospital to have it checked out... i'll see how it goes over the next day or so...

I'm doubly bad when it comes to the "guy's just tough it out" kinda thing... being a vert skater I've had more wounds/injuries than I care to remember.. when I had my first full ACL gig in my mid 20's, I walked around on it for 10 months before going in, doc just looked at me like i had 3 heads.. :wink1:

hopefully, it'll be feeling somewhat better by the weekend, and i can get back to the build... haven't touched the rig, just been making organizational lists of things to do, parts needed, etc... tho I did prime/paint my clocking ring and adapter last night... I'd love to get the drivetrain back in sunday... we'll see....

ya know, sometimes there's a little justice in this world... :D

I gotta say, this was one brutal week across the board for me... starting with the injury on monday, my psycho season and boats generally being pieces of sh*t, I really deserved a break.... :o I fought so hard this week, between pulling sh*t outta my ass to get boats out the door to dragging my leg thru bilges all week... 58 hrs of he!!.... :(

well.... today was my payoff I suppose....

i hadn't touched the truck all week due to nursing the wound.... so I was in the dungeon at 5:30 this morn to get the drivetrain mocked up... I was determined to get something done today and not lay around "recouping"...

someone was apparently smiling on me when I was guestimating my whole trans tunnel/floor gig, cuz the 205 stuff mocked up absolutely perfect...:saweet:

biggest issue i have at this point is I still need to get studs this week for the Fitzall spacer, to mount the adapter to the tranny... but i managed to mock it up with some threaded rods and a couple clamps.. I'll get the studs this week and have them for it's final install....

here's a couple quickie shots (my batteries are dead)... the shifter cables are perfectly positioned.. the rotor will sit about a 1/2" below the access panel... the lowest points of the adapter and 205 sit about a 1/2" ABOVE the bottom of the frame..

so i can start mocking up the x-member belly pan this week... I'll make a steel run tues for that stuff...

the rest of the day will be spent locating the hole/grommet for the t-case cables, figuring out the e-brake routing/bracket and finalizing plans for the x-member/belly pan.... I think i have a pretty killer plan for it... then clean the shop and pop a beer! :haha:

oh, and I wanna thank everyone for the interest in my stuff.... 300,000+ views..... beyond words...

Looks good, Gotta like it when things work out.

Hows the leg healing? I know mine is slow but finally get better after 3 weeks.

thanks....

and thanks for asking....

pretty darn good i suppose... I was very concerned all week and regretting not going to the ER.. biggest thing has been concern over infection obviously.... really been trying to do everything i can for that... i keep it bandaged during the day with a light coat of neosporin... been icing it after work for the bash/bruise and leaving it open most of my not work time..

lots of warm bathes, moist heat compresses and washing/scrubbing to help avoid affection during the evening... it was oozing most of the week from the deep part but has really subsided the last day or so... also started upping my vitiman C intake to help out..

the hardest part has been the bash.. the area is bruised, red, slightly swollen and painful, so it's been hard to determine any infection... but it seems to be improving daily... any signs of something f*cked and I'm going to the hospital.... I've warned the bosses already...

my life as a skater/mechanic has led me to be a pretty damn good healer... got some good white blood cells i suppose! got my fingers crossed.. :o

glad its healing man.im finally getting back to the garage.been puttin in 70 hour weeks for a month now.i finally get a day off.or most of one.haha.gota go back to work at midnight.mockup looks to be coming along perfect.you are a master fabrimacator.lol.with all the body work and all im glad it seems to be going back under as planned.id hate to have to re modify the work you have already put in if it didnt:wink1:.as for the healing process.i think being a skater definitely helps.your body knows it has to heal quick to get back out there. :)

you just nailed it... i was fully expecting to get screwed and be modding the floor... guess i should buy a lottery ticket today... :haha:

glad to hear your getting at least a bit of time today... :D

I don't think I've ever seen such a nice looking transfer case, everything looks great. I didn't realize you did so much work on the floor.
