87 K5 Build...Hmmm, whats that Ryoken up to? stay tuned...

thanks boys.....

I know it may look like a little bit of an unusual color combo, but i think once the truck is done, with padding, and this color is seen more sporadically at the joints, offset by the satin panels/cab, a few key components underneath, i think it'll work very well...

next up for the cab/body is to pick up fill primer and satin black so i can get the floor/ceiling/panels, etc in prime, shoot the cage, then do the black... in that wait, I'll get the t-case/shifter mockup done... tues i get my speedo gear.... actually the drivetrain in this color is what I'm really stoked on...
OH, your going with a satin black, I thought you were going to keep it copper.

keeping the copper exterior.. satin black interior sheetmetal, frame, all the fiberglass panels, sliders, etc... that's what I'm most anxious for, is to have the inside of the cab and cage painted....

eventually at some point I'll reshoot/overcoat the copper, probably when I do the cowl hood/airbox, i'll do the "final" exterior paint...... I really don't care too much how that looks at this point, but I'm dieing to get the interior painted so I can get to putting the truck together......

color comparison.........

thanks, me too.... :D

here's a little sneak peak of the 205..... still need a couple pieces of hardware for the cable shifter stuff, and the speedo so I can finish up the output and get the e-brake on... haven't put the sight tube in yet either...

I was half tempted to sand the black anodize off the PTO cover and polish it cuz I'm so pissed at NWF i don't wanna advertise for em! :haha:

boy, those pics are still coming out a little redder than it really is.. definitely more orange in person.. maybe some day I'll get a new camera....

That has got to be THE sweetest looking 205 I have ever seen :bow:, of course you also just tripled the amount of cleanup/prep time that I will now have to put into mine .
Thanks for always going that extra step (or in some case's the extra miles), I can't even begin to tell you how many little (and big) idea's I have gotten from your build.
Excellent work as always   and almost 300,000 views, got to be a CK5 record :waytogo:

thanks, me too.... :D

When I saw that pic, I was surprised that the NWF logo was still on there till I read below! :D Funny.

maybe some day I'll get a new camera....

The fact that the colors are off on your camera is likely due to using the auto white balance setting on it, usually denoted by AWB on the camera screen. Try using an indoor white balance setting (tungsten) and it should correct that color just fine. No new camera needed. ;) Just don't forget to change it back when you go outdoors or all your pics will turn up blue.

You know you just make me have to work harder to try to make mine look better.
That case looks really good, love the polished aluminium and all your attenion to detail.

it's a 2.1 meg HP from the Civil War...... it has 3 settings, "better luck next time", "if your lucky" and "you shoulda bought a real camera, not pulled me outta a box of Capt Crunch"

good x-mas present to ask for tho.... :wink1:

I can just flip the cover over. but it has some ugly machine swirls on it... at some point i'll pull it back off and sand/polish it... I'm not worried about it now, it's not like it's a qrter panel sticker...

well, ran into issue #1 with the "Never Wait For" parts cable shifter.. i knew it was gonna be tight running a flange on the front output, but it's REAL tight on the travel between the flange and shiftrail for the pivoting arm seen here...

orangeassemble004.jpg

here's a shot of the clearance.....

orangeassemble003.jpg

it does clear, with the delrin washers set up "just so" but it may rub...

option #1 - sell the flange and put a yoke on... not gonna happen unless all else fails...

option #2 - pull flange, chuck it up in my buds lathe and turn it down an 1/8" or so... I'll hold off on this till put my shaft order in, and talk to Jesse... because more than likely, i'd have to turn the shaft flange down a tad too....

option #3 - mod the arm.. put a slight bridge to it... i'd rather turn the flanges down for structural integrity issues.. but if nesc.....

for now, I'll set it up as best as possible and see if it rubs... then contend with it.... it may not move that far...

well, disregard that whole diatribe.. it's not even close.. just ran the range rail in and out and it never comes close...

:haha: yeah right......

I took those pics this morn, went out for the day, and it kept popping in my head that it might be an issue.. come home, reply to Colby, diatribe, post..

then I thought, "hey yackass, why not go down and see if it ACTUALLY is an issue!" :doah::haha:

Bravo 3 outdrive skeg bit me... fell from about 2'... they weigh about 150lbs.... could have been much worse, if it caught me across the shin, no doubt it would have broke the shin bone...

stupid thing is I get sooooo battered in my job, I didn't realize how bad it was and continued wrenchin..... till I felt my pants leg all wet..... :doah::eek1:

gonna be a looooooooong week now..... well, it was anyway, this'll just make it more challenging! I have a sneaky suspicion I'm gonna have a healthy bruise come morning....

now where'd I put that bottle of Jack? :saweet:
