87 K5 Build...Hmmm, whats that Ryoken up to? stay tuned...

I have a customer/friend here who has a sweet setup for pretty much everything water jet cut, their business only does production runs though.A one off type piece is really for the rich boat folks, and he won't talk to them.

I build custom cabinets,I use alot of plexiglass to make custom router bases to help with the initial carving of intricate designs, jigs for morticing, table planing etc. The problem I've run into with using any non variable speed tool,is the melting of the p.g. from cutting so I'm interested in what sortof setup you will concoct to deal with that.

the old dremel was an original variable speed one.. that's why i'm looking at the 3000 and 4000, the variable speed to slow it down... oh, and absolutely, the melting is the issue.. I always found with cutting the old plexi, etc with a high speed circular saw, it's like alum, your feed rate has to be stupid slow..

honestly, if I could figure out what kinda company could load it in their software in a simple, cool font... BUILT,NOT BOUGHT and run it thru some CNC engraver thinga madoohickey and have it perfect, I'd pay a c-note for that.. easy..... :deal: HE!!, I MIGHT DO $150.....

$265? I'd be MUCH more inclined to FIND a way to have mine look acceptable, I'll be inclined to fight that fight.... :doah: :haha:

all that from a guy that bought a $200 duck hood ornament! :doah: :haha:

oh, and you may be right, it may very well just be a plexi.. it's just listed as acrylic sheet.. I thought my initial searches where "lexan"

oh, and while I'm on the edge-lit subject, eventually, once I get an amp and the pc for the rear center console, the front angled panel

will have a green/amber, edge lit clear plexi insert with this grit blasted on it....

fock, I gotta keep/get this thing street legal.. I wanna drive tubed Mutt four days a week, and the UFO three... :haha:

tho, if I can be hanging in the K5 at lunch, surfing CK5 on the console touchscreen, it'll be hard not to drive it daily... :doah:

eh, Mutt's kennel's gonna be much more Shepherd-friendly than the K5, making it better for work..

Jimmy, by far the leading donator of "Ryoken needs/lost stupid stuff" for his K5....

send me that paypal addy :deal:

cool, I can work on the dash pad next weekend... :woot:

on that note, if they're reading, Teck your package went out yesterday... as did Uthergorge's too...

Thanks, I will let you know when I get it. If I can help you with anything just let me know.

If I can help you with anything just let me know.

eh, just blowing thru yours to driving it is a motivator... seeing one get done is exciting.. now if I would just stop insisting on modding every square inch of every system almost, I might actually get it done...

and on that... sorry Eric... but I am 97% sure I'm at least going leaves up front till a Rausch Creek, etc prove them incapable.. I know, booooo... :haha:

BUT, my intention at this point is to probably link the rear at least before it get's on the road.. gotta drive this thing...

You need to get it drivable then keep working on the extra cool stuff.

yup, that's why pc's and zombie's can wait... gotta do the dash fab stuff tho..

I'm not overly worried about doing suspension/axle stuff, that's just money really.. it's getting all the bodywork "truck whole" goofy fab/projects done...

next time I spend over a $100 on the rig, it'll be a windshield and lockstrip dammit! :screwy: well, body supplies too... :haha:

at least I got big OT coming... :pimp:

oh, since this has been somewhat brought up.. I'd tentatively like to have the rig drivable by july 4th of next year... but more than likely, much more :) , with that part list, it'll be spring/summer of 2015... I'm looking at at least 5 g's, if not 10 if I can manage...

so there ya have my real world optimism... :haha: Rousch Creek in the fall of 2015, I'm there...

I better add 3 grand to that # for the trailer when 2015 rolls around! :doah: :haha:

throw in Mutt's tubebed, and I'm looking to spend 12 to 15 g's on the rigs in 2013.. so that automatically means 18 to 20, converted to CK5...

that's gonna make for lot's of OT.. eh, lot's of sunk boats out there... :haha:

I feel yer pain.... Between 2-trucks, 2-drive trains, and a suspension system.....
I'll be working a bit more, this summer too. :haha:

but I'm a broken vert skater... :pimp:

dinosauric and decrepid makes OT painful... :haha:

wow, if I didn't have a battery setup, I'd find a way to use these.... sexay.. :pimp:

hmmmm, maybe in Mutt's tubebed...

Those are pretty cool. May look good with the old MT valve covers. Gotta link? :waytogo:

saw em on an old episode of gears, for sgt rock or whatever that thing was.. they're from

http://www.obrientruckers.com/ecom/product/search/2696/

obviously it's a pricey piece of bling, but sexay nonetheless...

I'm already planning to move the batts to the back in Mutt with the winch back there, and none up front, it makes sense... but I was thinking under the kennel floor, but this may be vastly easier and more maintenance-friendly..

2 up front in the tubebed, outboard of the center fuel tank.. eh, for that thread... nice product tho...

I'd tentatively like to have the rig drivable by july 4th of next year...

That's what I keep saying....every year I say it will be done by the 4th of July

The Mayor says "Those beaches WILL be open"...

well, it's actually been at least 2 yrs that I even had any goal date for it... now that i'm working on it again, it's good to give myself some goal, hopefully with a chance of making it...

i'd like to think 15 is pretty doable, 14, a 1 in 10 chance, if that.... if I can earn consistently over the next 2 yrs with no tragedies, I think fall of 15 is doable...
