God paul, looking awesome. Ill have to stop by again soon. Just finding time is hard these days. I gave up on mine for now. Battery dead again. Sat for 2 days without starting and was dead. Maybe time to save for a new engine. Your work is amazing. And if you go to MOAB, you have to tow my K5 so i can at least sit in it!!:D

It would be awesome to finally put a face to this Ryoken character I've been reading about for several years now..... and a caravan of K5s from the New England area out to Moab, UT would be absolutely epic!!!! There is nothing more awesome than a good cross-country road trip.

and dude, ya wanna figure it out, just let me know when ya get a couple hrs available on a sun morn or something.. I'll come by with a boostpack, find your draw, etc...

I'm anxious to see the interior "done" :wink1: well, painted anyway... :haha: thats when the whole "exposed cage" look thing I think is really gonna make the console look sick...

I've used em at work, they're slick.. Done projects with em on lexan, not on the composite, but they would work just as well.

I had considered other stuff, standard Duzs race car type stuff, but dig the look and no tool aspect of the pictured ones....


Or I could always go the mirror of it, satin cup and black handle... :thinking::haha:

found these...... :wink1: should have em in a couple weeks... 2 for the box out in the eng compartment, one for glove door.... and i'm picking up a few extras for a couple other potential spots.... $20 a piece... :eek1: :D
 
I have been waiting to hear if you found them, but $20 a piece I may look for another solution to my side panels.:grin:


Oh and Paul, Greg is a factor in my pushing to be a BB10. I would be even more gung-ho if I knew I could meet you and see this truck up close.:wink1:
 
I'm thinking I'm just gonna get the black on black ones... keep em subtle... the safe purchase/look....

but I still haven't ordered, so i'll probably change my mind 6 times! :haha:

maybe i'll order 3 blk/blk and 2 with satin handles.... just to have an option...
 
ok, learning more on the PC stuff.... man i really need to knuckle down and read up on this stuff...

I'm gonna run 2 drives if possible, the SSD for the OS/system stuff, than a standard HDD for music, temp files, etc...

my biggest issue is these tiny, fanless enclosures.... I want one twice as big, so i can fit a huge power supply, a fan, 2 drives, the DVD, PCI cards, etc, etc...

suppose I could buy all the components, and make an enclosure... eh, thats nuts.... :crazy::haha:

Ya, because we can all tell how you hate to build stuff :screwy:.

Seriuosly tho anything you build is gonna be 10x nicer than what you buy and it will fit your requirements exactly.

Or I could just want to see more of your fab work :bow:.

I don't work for them, they're just one of my suppliers :D

and no, they only come in Mustard. But its an aluminum chassis, so you can finish it any way you want, just don't fill in the fins otherwise you'll kill any heat dissipating capability the chassis has.

it would be a perfect unit to stick in that box.. looks like it was made for my truck, color and all.... :wink1:

alright maybe it's a x-mas thing, but I want to do this in Jan, LCD and all... I suppose if I drink tap water and eat rice cakes for the next 6 months, I can add this to my "back on the road" budget list...... :thinking: :deal: :yikes: :saweet: I'll sneak it in between gears and trans.... :wink1:

at least I'll be fully ready for the Megasquirt when I put the 383 together.... :doah::haha:

well, not very good news right now..... sorry to disappoint, but the truck is on temporary hold... hopefully for not too long....

for as much as I want to, and I think you guys know how much I like building my truck, physically I just can't right now... I'm having some pretty serious health issues right now... I'll know more later in the week, hopefully I'm not in the hospital, but I'm kinda expecting it...

i'd appreciate patience on the forums part, hopefully I'll be feeling better in a few weeks and back at it....
 
Ryoken I'd be more than willing to part with the PC unit I built for my truck. Its got a dvd player, SDD for the OS, laptop HD for files, video card, and it loaded out with windows xp. It works great. I even have a nice touch screen for it believe its 6.5 or 7in AND I have very expensive topographical GPS programs loaded into with the maps all setup.

Lemme know if your interested. Its super small, I fit it in my stock console.
 
Take care of yourself first, that is the important part. It won't do any good to push on the truck if it makes you unable to drive it after all the hard work. Keeping you in my thoughts for a speedy recovery.

Take all the time you need brother. Get well and take care of yourself first and foremost. It'll be there when you are ready.
