87 K5 Build...Hmmm, whats that Ryoken up to? stay tuned...

Just wanted to put up a quick review on the Windstar fan mod after running around for awhile on some very hot days...

very satisfied... I run on the one big fan almost exclusively and it keeps temps at thermostat range.. I have been kicking on the secondary fan while in bumper to bumper, just to be safe...

At this point, I haven't bothered putting in a thermal... They're switched, off, big on, both on... When I put the secondary fan on the thermal, I suppose I'll find out how often it wants to run, if at all...

2 thumbs up!

Sweet. Definitely sounds like something I would want to do when it comes time to swap motors.:D

Sorry I have read this thread twice but either A) I missed it somewhere B) Im a dumbass or C) it wasnt mentioned. SO here goes. What did you use for the breakers and where can I get them? Id realy like to rewire the 77 and resetable (is that a word?) breakers sounds much more fun than the glass fuses and blade fuses. I got big fingers so both are a pain.

While Im leaning towards a rant anyway.... WHOS THE *&^&%*&%^%&$ DIMWITTED @#$$%$#@$^$ ASSHAT THAT INVENTED *#^@$# MINI FUSES AND PUT THEM IN MY 97!?!? Rant over thank you for your time.

Suddenly I know how Yosemitie Sam felt.

Balzer

P.S. I blew the radio/cig lighter/power outlet fuse in the 97 today so thats where the mini fuse rant came from.:doah:

yup, resetable breakers is the term... Their are many options when it comes to resetables... You can go to DelCity or Waytek and find simple, round, pushbutton breakers on the cheap, couple bucks a piece..

They also have ones like these in auto reset or manual reset..

I run a little fancier rocker version from http://bluesea.com/category/3/12/productline/overview/17

They are a little pricier at about $10 a piece, but I get a deal on em thru work... But the "sexy" factor had me really wanting to go with them... I really like em..

Their are also higher amp marine ones like that big cab feed I run

Any idea how many amps they're pulling, running just the one, and then both together?

Haven't gotten to check that start up/ continuous amp draw yet Kristie... It's a fair amount tho... good charging/battery system is a huge plus... :D

Also a trans temp gauge.

I just hadn't cut the hole for that one in that shot.... When I went dual volt meters, I lost a spot...

You can see it in this shot.. right side is oil temp, water temp and trans temp.. one spot left for the air/fuel (still debating that vs a pyrometer)...

The old heater hole below it now has a bank of yet unused, contura switches to match the other side... winch controls, etc...

As I tell the boys at work, "It's all money... If I had 10 g's to throw at it, it'd be sick in 6 months."

In actuality, that list is probably double that #... :doah: :eek1: :haha:

That sounds whack.... :doah: :haha:

But I actually monitor them all pretty religously.. Peace of mind..

Oh, and I forgot a few for the list.. Somewhere in the t-case adventure, I need to run a VSS box and corrected speedo gear... :doah:

Btw, I'm looking for suggestions on offroad lights (would like rectangular) and cb's if anyone has a suggestion...

And umm, I do like quality... :wink1:

since I'm posting to myself, just thought I'd mention how sick my avatar is!

I can't tell you guys how hard that frontside rock n roll is... Lapping them over with the back foot all tweaked is awesome... crazy trick, some people never get em..

anyway, suggestions please.. cb's and such, not psychiatrists... :wink1:
