i like the round. never have liked the square ones. but i also don't like the slimline ones like those. i like the big bulky gawdy lights....idk something wrong with me. i just think the bigger ones are stronger i guess

Well, I'm not sure what I'm gonna do with em... I was thinking behind the expanded steel grill, thus the slimmer, black ones...

I guess it'll depend on how I feel about the tube bumper I build...

Since I'm looking to follow this style closely, except in black, maybe the big honking round ones will look good...

I did the expanded metal grill with a pair of 6" rounds IPF's. I am really happy with them. I'm hoping to throw a couple lights more maybe 9".

I actually would like to pick up the same Hella's you posted if they are available that size because of the slim profile.

Definitely round whatever way you go. I'll post some pics shortly...

As for the cb, I've been told by a dealer for the trucking industry that you choose the cb based on the features you want as they are all very similar, though some are 'bumped' easier than others. The real money should be spent on your antenna. Do your research here as there are many factors that influence your decision including where on the truck you will be mounting it.

By the way your TO DO list is almost exactly the same as mine! Gave me a chuckle.

As far as lights, I have always felt that lights and speakers should be round.

CB's the best bet is to buy a 10m HAM radio and have some one tweek it to get CB channels. They are alot more powerful, transmit and receve alot further. But it is technicaly not so legal. I have a Galaxy DX93T, and a Wilson 2000 antana, 18 ft of coax. People claim you want to leave the coax long and coil it someplace like the headliner. mine is coiled in the pass side under the side pannel in the extended cab part of my 97 GMC.

By the way I have talked as far as coose(sp) bay oregon on mine and im in utah.

I just wanted to take this time to pay my respect to Jason's work... I am a tough critic, takes alot, and I mean alot, to impress me, I've poo-pooed many a carshow entry... His welding capabilties, vision and good nature always blew me away.. If my welding was 1/2 as good as his, I'd be happy.. My respect for him has always been of the utmost...

I've been around a LONG time and seen some very interesting work, and a ton of garbage, and have always strived to do quality, awe inspiring work.. Well, this is one of lifes rare mechanical circumstances where I'm humbled... Jason inspired me, and I am grateful.. I once called him a hero, thats a rarity for me...

Life truly is fragile, sadly I was just reminded of that... :( RIP Jason....

If you want the BEST for lighting go here.

They are NOT cheap, but they are pretty much indestructable & have swappable filters for fog, long-distance, etc. The HID's are just rediculous, in quality & price.

Later,
Buddy

Agreed, Lightforce's are amazing.

Thanks guys... :D

I have looked at those in the past and had forgotten them... I'll research em and see what I like... Hmmm, wonder what those 240XGT's go for? :wink1:

Anyone remember what the strongest bulb I can run in place of an 1156 bulb is?

Oh, and a fresh poser shot of the patchwork wagon... :haha:

background...

Shows how bored I was at 5 am yesterday.. Got so sick of looking at white-lettered, mall terrains over the last 3 yrs, pulled em, scrubbed em in and out, freshened up the rims with some semi, took black permanent marker to the white letters and dressed em... :haha: :woot: :haha: :saweet:  :wink1:

I am getting REAL tired of it being patchwork..  :wink1: I'm thinking of getting the qrters, p/u gate and wheel wells on next weekend.. So I can paint the doors and whole back.. Then get to the floor in a couple months... front clip, eh, who knows, I don't wanna waste the paint on the stocker, but I may be a long way off from a cowlhood... #31 iirc! :haha: :woot: :(

When I look at my burb, I try to see what it will be and not what it is right now. :wink1: Some days it works, some days it doesn't. :dunno: Of course all you should have to do is look up at the top, pop the hood, check out the glovebox, or gaze at the dash and get a wicked grin. ;)

I need some details on how you did those bedsides. Those are on my agenda, especially since I was given some new chrome wheel well inserts for the rears and well let's just say that the screws fell out with a lot of the fender lip.

Lookin a little Fred Flintstone. :wink1: Dang, now would have been a good time to put in a shackle flip. :eek1: I feel for you guys with humidity over 5%, or even worse salt. Of course, when it's been 110+ for a few months, I think I'd take the rust. Anyways, will you be finishing your paint when you're done with the floor?

Sadly I see the same future for myself. Keep at it, won't be long until we're all ooooing and awwwing! :D

X2, unless if I finally decide to just put a p/u cab on it. I won`t get into my problems with decision making here though:D Looking good Paul!
