87 K5 Build...Hmmm, whats that Ryoken up to? stay tuned...

it's from http://www.highangledriveline.com/e_brake.html

picked it up from Tim, T89Blazer.... the rotor is lightly used, the rest new..

I need to call Jesse soon myself and order my flanged outputs, as I'll be putting the 205 together once my NWF stuff comes in......

edit.... thanks Steve! :wink1:

Wow, unbelievable build man. I just scanned EVERY page looking at your custom wiring and stuff. You are long overdue for a signature picture update, i've read your thread over the years im sure, but keep seeing your sig and thinking stockish truck with bad ass wiring. Its way more than that, for sure! Great workmanship, good work keeping your eye on your final goal.

Keep up the good work!

thanks Darren... :D

it's just hard at this point cuz I miss driving it so much... :( I've been POUNDING hrs on it for about 18 months now... I spent 2009 in my garage and the marina.... not much of a life....

the hard stuff is done, now it's just coin.... still holding out hope for August.. we'll see, maybe I'll find a bag of money.... heck, I'd take getting hit by a bus, that'd pay big! :wink1:

alright... boredom breeds minor updates... :wink1:

was gonna wait till the weekend when it was done, but I'll throw a couple progress shots up for entertainment....

the cb mounting.... composite is tabbed in... just used your basic polyester resin and mat... i'll fair it smooth over the next couple days.....

then I'll do the cutout for the Contura switching this weekend.... need to order more switches, no biggie there, i can have em in a day... what i really would like to have is the domelight I'm gonna run, so I can get that cut in too.... but the LED one I want is about $60.... :eek1: :doah:

I'm really trying to get as much fab, fitting, mockup done as I possibly can before I bring anything thru primer and paint... tho I'm seriously itching, no pun intended, to get some color on stuff... yes, I could do it after paint, and will as needed, it's just smarter to do all the cutting, bodyworkish type stuff I can beforehand if I can....

I think once the composite gets it's satin black, it should look pretty sick..... cord is gonna be fine.. as a matter of fact, I think once I mount the mike, it'll be functional as he!!........

that looks awesome.almost looks lik it belongs there.too bad chevy didnt think of that option.haha.looks like a big rig type mounting overhead area.any plans for overhead storage at all on the sides of the upper box?it comes in handy for me for little stuff when on the road.

thanks, I'm super happy with it....

once the switching, domelight, paint, etc are done it should be pretty badarse hopefully... no storage up top, couple little "yet to be revealed" secrets to it that I'm working on still..... the only definite storage at this point will be one compartment down in the floor console....... we'll see as the interior starts coming together....

looks like i'll start doing the major fab/glass work this weekend on the toolwall in the cargo area....

Now this I want to see! I have been toying with the idea of using that area for tool storage but have not come up with anything that tickled my fancy...Knowing your fab skills I am going to have to copy it! :D

As usual, your stuff is incredible, love the CB mount!

Cheers,

Rufus

I am so jealous of those front fenders. I would pay a pretty penny for a company to make something like that. I can't believe with all the parts available for Blazers that nobody has come up with a better front fender. Sure, there are fiberglass ones that bulge out like a desert racer but I just want a bolt in replacement fenders with the back angled like yours and maybe an inch taken off all the way around right to the inner liner. Excellent job and it makes me want to try it.

Sounds like another Ryoken product to bring to market?

x2 ON THAT ONE. I have been looking for the same thing but NOONE has any. You should fab a set up and make a mold and sell it to a press company for a percentage of profits on the sale of the tins. That way everyone that they stamp you get some off and none of the individual work.

Sorry Paul, maybe I opened a can of worms for ya here.

they would be cool though.
And about that M-37 look:thinking:, I still think that would be the cats ass.

little bit for the brotherhood.... :wink1: just a couple pics and some updating, nothing new really.....

first, thanks for the props on the fender...

it turned out better than I thought... that back fang came out like a rock when it's bolted to the slider... not simple, but I may consider doing a few for the brotherhood down the road... wont be till the rig is roadworthy tho... :p:

really it's finding clean GM fenders... hmmm, I wonder how the Taiwan stuff would work out...

anyway... next..... I took 2 or 3 weeks off the rig..... needed a break, was feeling a little burnt out.... :o really couldn't afford to heat the dungeon either... been putting in a few hrs here and there the last few days since I got propane and argon....... got the front bumper fab finished.... hopefully I'll get a good day in sunday on the other fender...

as it sits, without a skidplate, it weighs 105 pds... a bit less than I projected, and for as retarded stout as it is, I'm very pleased with that, and how my take on the A-bomb turned out.....

zincfinal003.jpg

the steel skid weighs in at about another 10lbs... but by the time it hits the road it WILL have an aluminum one... I think it'll be a detail that looks pretty sick... wont mind knocking it down to a 4 or 5lb skid either..

my welder bud is gonna cut the pieces and do the welds at the recessed fairlead mount.. then I'll do all the finishwork and countersinks... wont be getting that done for a few months, but I'm stoked on it... :saweet:

it'll be mostly updates like this for a bit.. got a buttload of work coming up catching the driversides up to the ps... but I will be doing my back winch bumper/carrier in a month or so.... :wink1:

oh, and....... NWF? wtf is with their shipping.... been like 6 weeks.... does customs take THAT freakin long?

I ordered a gasket kit from them for a 205 i was building once and that took 2 1/2 weeks to reach me. I will NEVER buy from them again.

On your project, i finally took some time recently to scan through your build and it's looking good. I REALLY like how that fender came out. I need to trim the rear of my fenders as well and i'm going to keep the factory looking lip/edge as well but i think i'm going to "rob" some sheet metal from some other fenders and splice it together rather than trying my stab at metal stretching/forming.

hehe, Scott in my thread... cool.... thanks mang.... :D

I knew of the shipping rep, but I think they make the baddest arms out there, so I was willing to wait some... it's the only arm angled in to help out with backspacing, got the integrated cap, etc...

but ya just get nervous, it's a big order... Kyle wasn't in mon or tues... i don't know if he's on vacay or something... I'm gonna give him a buzz tomorrow and get a tracking #.....

I'm trying to get myself revved up to work on the rig, so I just changed my desktop from this

to this......

Your build is awsome,:bow::bow: need to go back to the part I skipped and read it too.

I have a pic of mine on my desk top too, to keep me motavated.:D
