87 K5 Build...Hmmm, whats that Ryoken up to? stay tuned...

Oh I understand it, you are just one of the few that does such a good job of hiding it. Every pic has the tires standing in place, giving a much better look at what the final result will be. I am still jealous that your dungeon is bigger than mine.

I'm dreaming of the day I get to start installing a room full of new parts.. thats the fun part... getting what you see there, frame, undercarriage, cage and interior in paint is the big part.... the more fitting/fab work i get done now will make life that much easier down the road...

the dungeon does "ok".... it's the best setup i've had so i'm not complaining... it's just quite the clusterf*ck in there... and I'm he!! on a shop! the amount of dust, etc I create is nuts.... you should see days I'm cutting composite.. :doah::haha:

well, my NWF order showed today..... missing a bunch of stuff.... steering arm studs (where supposed to be dropshipped a month ago... who knows where that package is), shifter boot. shift lever pivot.....

sigh....... :(

well, this stuff is on Kyle....

the studs where supposed to come direct from the manufacturer, he's calling them tomorrow...

the shifter boot and pivot pin are annoying as he!! to me.. they just wheren't packed in the box... I can't do anything at all with the shifter end till i get those... and i was hoping to mock that up in the composite this weekend..... Summit should have my e-brake to me this week...

if i had those, i can fab up the locking storage compartment, lid hinges, lock... and put that console piece in prime, ready for the paint... i should have the overhead in prime in a week or so too...

in other words I'm trying to get my cutting, fitting done before i put em in black... and i'm anxious to do just that...

the shifter looks like it'll work pretty badass.... once i get all the components... everything is NICE quality... got a full NP205 setup too...

but at least I can start the 205 rebuild this weekend... hopefully Kyle can get the other stuff to me in a couple weeks...

Pfft. Canadians....

They're all probably distracted by the Olympics over in Vancouver. :D

I've been dealing with a surprising number of Canadian vendors lately. With the exception of all the stupid customs "fees" from UPS, the experience has been relatively good.

Fortunately the US dollar is strengthening, so commerce across the border is getting cheaper (somewhat)

:usaflag:

Easy there Tex. not all of us are obsessed with the big business money making machine (IE: olympics) F that....

The real issue here is where the hell is your stuff ryoken? It really friggin irks me when I've got a schedule to keep and a vendor, or International shipping Co is to blame.....(as a fellow countryman , im hoping its shipping!):D

Am I seeing the parts right that you are doing a remote mounted twin stick 205 setup? If so, I am curious how much the setup cost, not including the headaches of shipping. I really dislike the stock 205 shifter mount location, it is too far to the right side of the truck, which is why I was considering going Kerts route with the electronic shift setup, but I am concerned about the wet weather exposure. That type of setup would be far easier to deal with, even if I didn't twin stick right now.

nope, this snafu is Kyle's fault... parts are just missing... pretty critical parts...

for as sweet as the all the parts are that i have gotten, the service has sucked... I just don't get that... be professional... the other part that irks me is, for that shifter, Kyle should have a parts list, or god forbid, an instruction sheet.. it's pretty sad when i have to go to the website and look at the pics to figure out what goes where.. :(

the shifter boot was obviously missing, but the whole pivot pin setup that holds the shifter handles in place is missing... and i have no clue what pieces that entails...

yeah, it's their cable shifter.. like i said, it should be pretty sick, once it's complete.. it'll be perfect in my console... just hope the cable length works out right...

and the twin stick shifter.......

AFAIK, you have to twin stick it at that point... just a matter of running the modded shift rails.. you can homebrew grind them, or there's quite a few vendors that have em.. mine are JKW's......

$279 for the 205 twinstick.... http://www.northwestfab.com/Shifters.html

That's not a bad price at all really. I will keep that in mind when I finally get around to doing the interior. I have an idea for the console, but the shifter was going to be in the way for what I wanted, this will solve that issue as well as moving the shifter to an area that is more accessible. It is probably one of the things I liked most about Fords 205, the shifter was on the driver's side.

I'm really enamored with the cable shifter idea.... and with my console, it was a no brainer...

i'll be curious to mock it up for cable length.... i'm almost thinking i'll need to "loop" the cable...

i should be ordering my clocking ring in a couple days... then the only part i'll need at that point is a cable from the lokar e-brake over to the HAD brake.... gonna be a short little 90 degree run... that'll be THE last part to go in tho... it'll all be in for the final time when i measure that up...

I just wish I had the cash right now, since I will hopefully be pulling the trans and tc this weekend. Got a used th350 and 205 for $75. I will keep the 205 as a spare, and to eventually add the Lomax kit to, but I need the tranny in.

Keep it up Paul. Of course everytime I look at your thread I get more ideas that are going to cost me money.

What is that coming out of the rear output of the 205? Don't think I have seen that before.

I think thats actually a dana 300.. it's the only pic that showed the twinstick shifter....
