87 K5 Build...Hmmm, whats that Ryoken up to? stay tuned...

Holy s**t I hope they weren't using that. I have seen bad but that is real bad.

Why run an EGR at all?
Inspection?
The laws changed, they don't even open the hood now.

well, yeah, it'll be a numbers thing.... I'd be adding the EGR if i run into bad NOX #'s..... from what I know it really helps on that, cylinder temps and all that. initially it'll be getting a plate... just trying figure out all the variables with MS...

wow that perch is scary. I tried searching thru this thread but what is the actual size of your garage your working out of??

Taking on a project of this scope in only a 20'x20' space is probably the most hardcore part of this entire build.

:usaflag:

actually.... I feel spoiled somewhat... I've had this place the last 15 yrs or so, previously I had 1 cars, or outdoors... tho I did rent a 3 bay chicken coop when I built my 69 Chevelle... I built my buddies 70 ragtop GTO in this garage, and did a 70's Bug for a guy in here, but this is my first build in here...

obviously I'd love to have more room but I get by.... I try to keep the shop somewhat in order... but there is a LOT of "stuff", it can always use reorganizing..

one of my biggest complaints is constantly having layers of all kinds of dust everywhere, I do soooooooo much grinding, sanding, cutting, etc, it's stupid........ I'm constantly sweeping and blowing the shop out...really wish I had it somehow seperated into a "dirty" bay, sectioned off.... and a "clean" room... had my shop at Bluewater set up that way...

I have done spraybooth's in there tho on occasion...

here's one of my 1/2 arse attempts to stay organized..... my bins.... fiberglass, steel and lumber... I also have a couple 5 gallon buckets of steel scrap...

ahhh so there is hope for me! i dont have 20x20 but its 12ft wide by 25deep.... truck will just fit in there with 2ft on either side. Your definitly an inspiration

Just don't get yourself in a position where you've got the knuckles off your axle and you need to pull the axle out while you're in there! :D I did that with the rear axle once - didn't have enough room. :doah:

:haha:

well, since I don't have any pics of parts or fab joy joy, I'll take ya on " A Day, In the Life of the Dungeon"

quite cluttered these days.... definitely want to enclose a room under the stairs around the Quincy.....

garage003-1.jpg

btw, I still need a clean pickup tailgate, someone hook a brother up!!!!!

the bane of my existence... the bathroom right in the middle of the back wall....... have never used it... one of these years, I'll tear it out.... it's normally full to the ceiling with parts....

garage002-1.jpg

overall... i usually try to do most of my fab, grinding, etc over by the door, where the axle is sitting....

garage004-1.jpg

that's another reason I'm anxious to have the truck out the door in the spring.... I'd love to gut it, blow the bathroom out, put proper outlet/light circuits in, custom-fit shelving, douche the whole thing in gloss white with a airless sprayer....

then I'd like to get some tool stuff done... build a new welding/fab table..... build a wheeled mount for my lathe, maybe go wheeled, hydro on the bender...

oh, keep in mind too, I have an entire attic full of used parts, and a spare (available for rent to non-psychopath) bedroom FULL of new parts... :doah: :woot: :doah: :eek1::haha:

I'd rent the room, but I don't think sleeping on a pile of truck parts would be good for my back.

That, and I'm a psychopath.

shackle impaled spleen! :haha:

eesh, just did the budget...... :eek1: $255 a week till march..... looking to put about $6700 in by then.... more likely 7 g's... barring unforseen bills, I think I can do it... :haha:

oh, and just a partial list of what's not included in that 7 g's...

PC and LCD

driving lights

2 more gauges

rear winch

spare 38

383 stroker

amp & speakers

air system to go with my york

cogged belt setup

welder

what the 7 g's does include....

reverse manual vb 700r4, done to the hilt....

5:13's, install kits, Detroit, yada...

cowl hood

Megasquirt with all the bells and whistles (i'll use my laptop till i'll get the PC in)

exhaust

seat harness's

HAD 1410 CV shafts

damn thats even more impressive seeing this... the amount of detailed work you do in a normal garage puts some full fab shops to shame

If I was single id move in in a heartbeat.lol.maybe that fab skill would rub off on me.haha.im workin outa the same space as you are.just with less fab skilz.id love to have an actual bathroom in the garage.i use a gallon bucket so I dont have to quit workin unless its number 2.lol.

I like your "dungeon"
My "shop" is a one car packed with parts and tools.
Working outside in the alley can be challenging to say the least.

yeah, your a little more "conjested" over that way... :wink1:

by far the best setup I've ever had.... like I said, once the rig is out the door, I'll do a sweet makeover.. regretting not having done it before this build...

the chicken coop Chevelle build was interesting.... :haha:

I almost forgot, you've been there too.

Keep up the good work man.
Look forward to some wheelin with ya.
