87 K5 Build...Hmmm, whats that Ryoken up to? stay tuned...

thanks for asking... sorry, nothing pic-worthy really... :o

i was telling Dave this morn, I'm having a hard time staying focused, I'm ALL over the place.... :doah::haha:

got soooooo many different things flying right now, bouncing around from project to project... :screwy:

got the floor 1/2 prepped for Herc, I was just down putting on a new pan gasket so i can get the motor painted... hydroboost is 1/2 installed... was gonna blast the rad support this weekend, but snow has hampered that, so the front clip is on hold...

should have some things done next week.. biggest issue is I'm broke till tuesday and i need sand and more red/orange rattlecans....

i can't remember but when you did your heater install did you make provisions for a defrost as well as floor heat? i like the way it let you clean up the firewall like you did but as you i need to run defrost here in the winter.

yeah, it's set up right now to run to all the openings floor and defrost.. i'm also only running defrost to the center of the windshield... as with most of my stuff it doesn't help most due to my incessent need to customize everything beyond recognition... :doah::haha:

i did design it so i could add a flapper later to split it.. i'm gonna try to control that with electric solenoids thru the PC..

here's a couple shots... the summit box has been neutered... the front output panel removed, and it fits directly into the fiberglass diverter i made...

accessory stuff will generally be all black... I'm thinking I'm gonna do the radius tooth belt setup now.... but we'll see...

yes sir! chevy red/orange, same as the 205, cage, and more than likely the trans too... unless i go retardo and polish it... i really, really had to refrain from polishing the intake...

i've done it before, and know the stupid labor it takes.. plus i'll be changing it for the 383.. if i keep tbi, i'll get a performer, unless i go to a dry intake...

well, tho they have many kits... mine will be pieced together due to OBA, welder, etc... we used to run em on the race boats, but i've NEVER seen it on a vehicle that see's street time..

i'm gonna be running 2 30mm wide radius tooth belts and a serp belt for the York.. it should be between 4 and $500 in parts.... the site is kinda difficult in places... mainly in good pics..

basically, my pulley's will look like this...

I really like your build man.You are just doing so many projects at once to complete your big picture. I dig it. Motor looks sweet!

LOL I was looking at their site last night. I think we might have the same powerplant setup going on. I'm confused as to what configuration to run the alternator seeing as they have a 120amp on their site but I think I might need more, then there's the available alternator brackets and I haven't really played with a cogged setup on a motor that isn't running a supercharger only (which might come down the line after I decide wether I want to run a 383 stroker or not, streetable fuel mileage is my concern).

keep in mind these aren't squared gilmer style belts like you find on a blower setup.. tho they carry those too.... the radius tooth is far more DD friendly...

i haven't ordered anything from them in yrs, but i'll definitely have to call them to finalize what i'm running/ordering... my tentative setup (unless they suggest otherwise) is going to be power steering on lower DS, York on upper DS. system alternator on lower ps, and welding alt on the upper ps...

i wont be doing my alts from them... I'll more than likely have my bud put them together... I'm sure Stomis knows of him, Point generator.. he's been doing that stuff forever... and as with most of my stuff they'll be over the top.. more than likely dual 200's....

ok i got to ask you, you have this way over the top completly custom truck everything is done with a very detailed hand and everything has its own custom touch and your only goin to run a 383 after you build it. why not go with a big block or a ls motor or something i mean a 350 or 383 doesnt really match your project lol but i love this build thread just kinda curious

oh, and i haven't ruled out an LS motor.. i'll just have to see what i have available to me in a few yrs when i go to do this... standard sb and bb stuff are laying all over my marina... LS stuff, nada...

trust me... i have a rebuildable 502 roller EFI mill sitting in the corner of the shop right now that i can have that i'd LOVE to throw in there.. thats what the 41 Willy's will get tho! ;)
