87 K5 Build...Hmmm, whats that Ryoken up to? stay tuned...

Grat vid Paul. Bs smith definitey are fun. If you can get one around a corner even better. I never did Get the hang of hand plants though. Finally did my first kick flip in a year last weekend. Felt good
To be back on a board again.

it's all fun and games when your still drunk when you wake up ,

until the hangover settles in.... :doah: :haha:

Glad to hear the good news from the doc's.

I think this hangover is well deserved. As hard as you bang at work and on the weekend's turning out some killer custom work, a little headache is a nice reminder of some well deserved down time.

Lab looking good as ever, I can hear the tunes from jersey.

And thanks for the motivation for getting to my project, it always seems to be around the corner and at the same time blocks away for the other projects I need to complete before I get to it.

paid for it today.... :doah: I hope I was at least somewhat entertaining.... :haha:

now that the blast cab is pretty much done, hopefully I can get back to some work on the dash this weekend...

blunt kick is way out of my trick bag, but I have dorked with shove-it lip tricks on my buddies mini in his basement.... I've pulled a couple shove-it back smiths on pure "shoulda bought a lotto ticket" kinda nights... :haha:

it's funny how some tricks can just look so balls out cool, stylish and burly.. and some are just complete dorkfests.... :doah: :haha: and difficulty means nothing...

probably the hardest liptrick ever? fs rock and slide.... :doah:  stupid hard, and goofy as he!! looking! probably why no one does them... :haha:

Wait... You mean skating isn't all "up, up, Triangle"? :haha:

I played TONS of the big 3 team sports as a teen, varsity basketball, could dunk, yada..... avid golfer my whole life.. heck, I boxed in the ghetto for 3 yrs.... but...

by far... the most difficult thing ever was skating.. not even a comparison...

it's hard to describe how badarse it is when you finally pull a trick you've been trying forever... some, you think you'll never make... and knowing, your gonna eat sh*t 300 times learning it, is a passion for something that's unrivaled as far as I'm concerned... swinging and missing at a baseball doesn't have the consequences of going face first into the deepend from 15' up.... ;)

I remember days skating our 1/2 pipe out in the middle of the woods by myself, blazing hot, eating sh*t on 100's of attempt's at a bs Ollie over the channel, than finally pulling one... :pimp: that satisfaction is unmatched in my life... didn't matter that no one saw it...

and Hawk's games where a blast for skaters, who happened to be gamers too... :haha:

I want to see you skateboard after drinking some more bourbon...:haha:

Just so you know, that last video completely crashed my phone. That's how hardcore it is :p

meaning, the skate thread could be cool, or stop cluttering this build thread? :haha: :doah:

avatar note..... changed to bs rock and roll boardslide....... :pimp:

dash work sunday folks, I promise... :deal:

Plug this song in and crank it up!

That's the theme song for the "Might As Well" build thread if it ever becomes a TV show. :waytogo:

I hum that riff all the time when something cool is happening in my shop.....and I'm quite sure that I'll be rolling into Moab 2018 with that song blasting out of my speakers too! ya know, just to let everyone know that I finally made it.

:saweet:

I never had your skill, but skating and surfing was my life for a good 10 years. I still have my Mt. Trashmore card from the mid 80s :-) Nowadays, I keep a board in my garage for days when the garage is frustrating me, I take a cruise around the neighborhood.

Have you ever considered getting on a snowboard? In my old age (40), I have tried to fill in my love for skating and lack of beach time with hitting the slopes in the winter.

My best winter was last when I had a helicopter dropping me off on the top of various Canadian mountain tops. Probably one of the scariest things I have ever done.

I played TONS of football for over a decade. I used to skate quite a bit and I still snowboard a lot.
From my experience in football you get yourself into position and there isn't always the time to reflect on how bad things could end up. Standing over an icy drop off deciding if I should do it or not I get a totally different type of feeling and it takes quite a bit of "sacking up" to go for it.
For me it's the suddenness of it all. If I take a turn on my board that I realize halfway through was a very bad idea I get the same feeling as I do in football putting myself in a bad position.

As far as the whole pride in your accomplishment goes, that is probably a personal thing. Some of the most personal pride filled moments I have had were at 4:00 am in a weight room.

My kids skate, snowboard, BMX and play several team sports. As far as I'm concerned, as long as they want to do it and can gain a feeling of accomplishment from it all's good.

Please don't stop with the skate themed posts my boys love the old vids and pics.:thumb:
