This thread needs a bump! Any progress, or have you scrapped your plans and converted it into a doghouse for Kai?
it's soooo far from getting worked on right now it's sad.... actually it's being set up for me to sleep in back.. Kai can either stay in Mutt's kennel or bunk up on the air mattress in the K5 with me on camping/wheeling trips......

thought I would officially update this rig to mothball status...
I'm honestly not sure when I can get back to this rig....
it sickens me, but the build premise of insane DDer meets fun rig is a long way off.. Mutt has officially become the #1 priority to finish.. that includes the 6BT/NV4500 and custom interior... the rig is like 63% complete... and... one, needs to be finished soup to nut's.. Mutt needs to be that rig...
that put's this build 5 yr's down the road. just trying to be real with myself.... really makes me second guess the drivetrain choice...
I would actually consider selling the rig, but at 3000 or so hr's of soul, it's a dicey line... the rig really just needs a 25 g investment in parts to be outstanding..

Funny, I haven't been on here for years, but thought about your build a few weeks back. Thought you might be ready to sell by now...I'm pretty sure the numbers won't work but if you are serious shoot me a PM.
Ohh brother I feel your pain. My projects for lots of different reasons have been in mothballs for far too long. It's a painful thing to be sooo sick with health issues and I have no energy to work on them. Want to, I tinker here and there, but nothing worth posting about I feel. I finally cleaned out all the stored junk in the K5 so it Can be worked on. It empty now. Was becoming a treadmill clothes hanger. Stuff sitting across the frame rails. Jeez. Not now. It's ready to get to playing with. Shop need to get cleaned back up. Working on that still.
If it's not one thing....right, damn lol. My shop is such a mess now the electrician can't get my machines powered up. Need to rearrange my cars, get some fixed, maybe now sell two vehicles. Parking is now an issue at the shop. Mgmt complaining. Trying to keep the peace. I'm a good tenant and always pay my rent on time. Even through Every surgery I drove over and dropped a check off not long after a few of the brain surgeries. Someone's always got to piss & moan about something jeez.

meh, i don't need to... it's more the space in the shop at this point... it takes up a bay.. it honestly doesn't affect Mutt's build at all.. Mutt doesn't fit in the shop with the K5 or not..... but once i get a 6BT in the other bay, it'll get a bit crowded.. it just didn't pan out as the viable rig.. powerball winner? sure....

I've been turning down p-pump cummins cuz i just can't justify that cash outlay with current bills...
My brother wants me to sell Everything so if I die he doesn't have to deal with it. Nope. I will die trying to succeed. He's complaining about getting stuck with a complete 2 CNC mills fab/weld machine shop, with about every tool possible. Freakin baby. He's owned his own carpet cleaning business but has no employees as only He cleanes the carpets and owns and runs the equipment. Cool, but he busts his Ass every single day he has to clean.
Before that he was a carpet installer for 20 some of years until his knees gave it up. Carpet installation and cleaning are brutal hard labor jobs especially if done right. Have assed job is always easy to do. My bro really does do a kick ass of cleaning. But if he doesn't work he makes no money. So it's constant hard work. I've tried it with a buddy a time or two. No thanks. Work too hard for no money. I'll take machining anyway over carpet anything. My shop could potentially support my son, my brother and his wife with Lukimia. Any future family in our family and he's complaining. Family can be such a pain in the ass at death time.

I put so much time and $$$ in mine that I don't have the will to do anything else...at 53, my joints hurt so bad that I really couldn't if I wanted to. I worked through the pain to get the K5 done...I still wish I could do something so I had something to post up, but I can't justify doing another. It was a thrilling 5 years, 7 now since I started...still enjoy watching others progress and visiting the forum...instead o thinking of selling the K5, why don't you rethink it and just make it nice and drivable??? I dunno...just a thought. How much more will your body hurt in 5 years?
it's the time and money.. i'm not gonna sell it.. it's just been bumped down the priority list....

Time into the blazer to get it good enough to be able to drive and enjoy it again. Was on the back burner almost 5 years as well. Life always gets in the way but st least it's
Paid off and to Let it sit awhile won't hurt anything. With all the work we put in on these trucks they are like our babies. The years of skating hurts everyday now and the older I get the harder it is to Climb around the blazer to get things done. Hopefully you'll get back to it. Making a project your daily driver is also

What are your plans for a drive train in the blazer? I'm sure it's on here but I really don't want to wade through a million posts to find the info.
