Eastbound and Down
454 from mutt into the K5 then?
Stock drivetrain, tbi motor (thought you had one in it anyways?) 700r4 because they work great built right. Cheap drivetrain, they are everywhere.
Skip the trailer queen thing. OD and drive it on the road, and take the pup out camping in it and hit some 2 tracks along the way.
Then drive it out for some time to play in the sandbox next summer.

Glad to hear it! Adam makes good points. No sense letting the perfect be the enemy of the good. Nothing you do to make it drivable and enjoyable in the near term can't be undone when you want to upgrade later down the road.funny, never saw those posts Adam.. cool.. thanks..
yeah, bump.... some thoughts coming on this build soon... things are gonna change here...

Windshield is essential. Lol. I just put one in mine. Cost me 225. So that’s an easy one to do that is low cost and gets you closer to back on the road. Having two rigs you’re building at once always puts the priority to one that is more in need. Even if you dedicate a couple hours a week back to the blazer at least you are being proactive. Even if it’s just wiring up one thing or something small you will feel better you did something to it. Tftu

I had a tree fall on mine during sandy. Sucked but it fortunately only took out the windshield and a small dent on the a pillar and hood. With yours you can probably just have safelite come to your house to install. Would be easiest. And doing it yourself sucks for the cost of them doing it for you. Just make sure all the paint and things are done around the windshield so you dont have to worry about removing it again later.

it's been ready since i did the dash build.. i'd really like to put a new weather strip in with it.. have to see how the replacement stuff is compared to the one i took out..
$200 for this rig seems like light yr's away when I'm probably looking at 10 g's start to finish for the 6BT deal..![]()
