1/2 ton status
Well, I'm officially pulling this off the market. I have no idea why it didn't sell, but I figure after 3 months, and so many cuts in price, its a no go. Its a great solid truck, I think it has more to do with the economy then anything. I really hated to have to sell it and was really hoping it wouldn't sell, so lucky me! It will sit until I have the time and money to continue to make it what I want, cage, seats, lockers, H1 beadlocks and body armor. Thanks again CK5'rs, you guys are great and I look forward to hanging out around here with a truck still!
Thanks, Mike.
It's an 1987 K5 Blazer. It has 8 or so inches of lift with shackles and rough country springs, NO body lift or blocks, it flexes. 1 Ton 14 bolt full floater rear end, 3/4 Ton Dana 44 front, 4:10 gears with 36" TSL swampers, 350 TBI motor with approx 16K miles on it (I have the receipt) with synthetic oil (previous owner). 700R4 with a B&M shift kit with about 15K on it has second gear slip ONLY when cold and has been sitting more then a day it seems and for about 1/8 mile IF you drive off right away, no problems after its warm or has sat for a few hours, P.O. said it had been doing it for the last 2 years. Shifts fine all the rest of the time. (previous owner), NP208 T-case. Radiator was replaced with the motor, new heater core all by the previous owner. I already added the R134 retrofit ports and shot gas in it to find the leak at the shop.
It has typical K5 rust, nothing major or structural, small spot in the roof, some in the bed the previous owner patched, and a little in the front of the rear wheel houses, nothing structural. The carpet and panels removed and rubberized floor coating added. I installed an ORD steering box brace. I will include all the rear disc stuff, front brakes are new.
