It took hours!!! That case had crap on it from ten yrs ago. I was pulling off layers and knew where the dirt came from. Lots of degreaser, pressure washer and scotch brite and brushes and scrapers. Took almost all day!
Tranny is rebuilt! Took the pro 3 hrs. I watched the whole time and drank beer. Best $250 spent ever.
Now the hard part, lifting in 3 feet and hooking it up.
Oh, today is our 2 yr anaversery! Seems like its been a lot longer than 2 yrs.

Damn. Not bad for $250!! I'd say 3 hour turn around is about the best you'll find

Do you know what they did with the convertor?
Seems the only way to check them for damage to the fins is to cut them apart and look.

I used this with the tires deflated to put my tranny in
I think your truck is taller than mine though, I had to put two 2x6's under it under neath it

I have this jack. Works great. has held up to pulling and installing Nv4500's just fine.

Tranny and transfer caes looks real good.
Thats the jack I bought! It sucks, The tranny fell off it while I was lowering it. I even welded the jack cup to the tranny itself. I used one jack on the tailshaft and the tranny jack where its supposed to go. It was a headache for sure. When it goes back in I will have help!
The tranny sat in the hot tank for about 45 minutes and it is still dirty. I am going to clean it up more before it goes back in.
I just dropped off my driveline to get retubed and have new u joints installed. Should have it by tomorrow. I will keep my red beat up one as a spare. It will be a sweet drivline. $200 for the re tube and 2 new u joints, ballance and paint.
Here is the one getting redone. Its the rusty one. I have an extra front drivline also. I will get that re tubed and new joints also.
So, I need to change my spedo gear to one thats a little more correct. I cant get the deal off. I took off the retainer ring, and I can unserew the deal only one turn. Am I doing something wrong here? Whats the deal?

If I remember right it does not unscrew. I think it has an o ring around it that is holding it in.
