'87 Suburban Build "munepit" I'm Back! Missed all you guys!

Thanks guys. If you really want one, pm me your address. I will send you guys one.

Thanks again.

Working on the Burb again. Pulled the hubs off and I need to re pack and grease everything. It was all dry and crusty. Decided to check out the king pins. Should not have done that. I think I need new ones. I hope not though. What do you guys think.

Got the knuckle off. Can't believe that has not broke yet. Doesn't look that strong.

The kingpin is done. I am wondering if I can order the parts seperatly. All I need is the kingpin and seal. Not the spring and plastic bushing.

The bottom bearing is crusted all to hell. Don't think this is good either.

And my little helper. This cooler rocks! It was 103*+ and it felt great.

Order from WFO. They're having 15% off OR free shipping right now.

They have everything spearately. They also have some "get some" kingpin removers that might come in handy for ya'. Weld it on and beat it with a sledge hammer until it spins.

Under "Axle rebuild parts" on their website...

Thanks. Will do. Got it out. Took fifteen minutes and one beer. Took four beers pondering beforehand.

What you see in the picture are all the tools I used. Super easy.

Not in the picture is the grinder. Ground a groove around the whole kingpin. Heated up the C and bam! Now need to order parts.

With the way you drive that grocery getter! Just upgrade it if possible. It's amazing that the plastic cup is still good with the way that looks. Or that you haven't broke it yet. Just my .02, if you have to go back in later cause you didn't replace while you're in there the first time.

I have new spare plastic cups already. Going to use those for now. It will need to be torn apart in the next month anyways. A buddy gave me his shafts. He went to 300m. The ones he gave me are a few months old and have chromo 35 spline outers and I forget what u joints. But they are nice! I need to get some 35 spline hubs. When those go in I will do the bronze bushings. I just need to go wheeling.

Thanks!

nice score on the light man.

I plan on getting a 24" for the lights on Horton. probably not from them but I know a guy getting em from China way cheaper and they are good quality.

He went through about 5 different places before he found one that did good work

These are badass!! Are you going to KOH? I need to start getting everything dialed in. Taking the Burb. Need a front locker and 35 spine shafts up front. And a bunch of other things. I need to stop destroying it every time I take it somewhere. Its hard though.

I thought that was something planned..??

Then I saw the windshield....:doah::eek1:

That sucks!

You do seem to get yourself into some interesting predicaments.

I haven't been on the forum in a while and then I saw the updates on your Burb.

Did the guy offer anything for the damages?:dunno:

Yes. Window is getting installed at my house this afternoon. I am going to pay for and replace the passenger back window. No biggie. Funny thing is I was driving his rig on my Burb for awhile before he got in it and climbed too far. It was fun though.
