I finished all the body work on my Sub and want to do an audio system now.
I don't want to cut the dash, and since I don't need a tape player or cd player, is there any other options?
Here's what I want to do.
Keep it as stock looking as possible. I will use either a 5 channel amp or a 4 channel and a mono.
Replace existing speakers, add a subwoofer, and have it controlled by something that has an am/fm tuner and plays MP3's from a usb memory stick or micro hard drive.
I don't need audiophile sound quality, and I don't want to cut the doors, so what speaker options do I have? Do they make kick panel pods for these? Do they sound good? I assume it would be better than the in dash dinky ones but more expensive.
For a sub I was thinking a bazooka style tube. I built a full false floor that covers the entire back from the back seat to the tailgate, and sits just above the wheelwells so I don't have room for a box with 12's and they can't fire up because the false floor has 4 hinged doors that would rattle.
SO, what ideas have you guys seen for stock looking decent sounding audio without cutting the dash for a DIN radio?
I have seen the aftermarket knob radios on LMC and others but the display is small and in an awkward location on the dash to really be able to scroll and read.
