87 TBI in 76 pickup

So I have an 87 k5 and a 76 k20. the 76 blew an engine so I bought the k5. the k5 is huge but runs like crap. I was thinking of swapping the 350 from the k5 into the pickup but I wasn't sure if it will work. Anyone have experience with it?

Not the injection, just the engine?

Will have an issue with the intake manifold, other than that should be pretty straightforward, although unsure about fuel pump drive. I don't know if the '87 blocks (some/all/none?) will drive a mechanical fuel pump.

If it runs terrible, are you sure there aren't physical engine problems? I'd hate to swap an engine over, only to find out it's in bad shape. Heck, the rockers could be mis-adjusted for all you know, and a simple fix.
