I don't really want to start a build thread - I'm not really good with staying up to date on photos; but figured I post some key parts of my build at least. I got the firewall all cleaned up and painted - I just used Rustoleum semi gloss black, freshly built 350 dropped in yesterday morning. TBI won't support what I'm after, so this is a TBI to carb swap. I bolted my quick fuel carb on this morning and will be sticking the distributor in later this week, headers and wiring soon, and should be able to fire up within the next month.

The engine was my brothers super late model circle track engine from last season, just rebuilt with - forged crank, .020 over pistons, GMPP heads - CNC ported with fresh valve job, GMPP roller cam, Comp cams roller rockers, all of the bearings are micro-blue coated, GMPP port matched single plane intake, block was bored and honed, square and parallel decked, line honed, balanced on a hines balancer supposedly to within 1/10th of a gram. I'm excited to say the least to get this thing fired up.

Nice setup, is this going to be street driven/tagged here in CA?

I am very interested in how you will pass smog and get tags with the modifications.

Holly Crap is that a GM 604 crate.

Damn. That's going to run well

Yeah it was once a 604, but now has a bigger cam, 1.6 rockers, and some other goodies.

I currently keep it registered in Hawaii where there are no emission requirements. Not sure what my long term plan is yet, but there are ways to get around all of the CA smog control...

Dayymn thats cool.

people give me crap for it but we run old circle track parts,

I put old circle track cams in street engines and they are always so responsive.

I ordered a March Performance serpentine kit, new alternator, AC compressor, etc... Also got some Tri-y's from Stan's with proper D-port flanges welded on. Things aren't moving as quickly as I'd like, but are turning out decent anyway. How do I get this moved to the Driveway as a build thread?

Anybody have a wiring diagram for an 87' with cruise control? The chilton's diagram I have is too generic for me to make heads and tails of my wiring mess. I'm also looking for some help with wiring - I have a few questions posted in the 73-91 section. Any help is appreciated.

Not too much progress. I got my regulator in and fuel lines plumbed, with the exception of the return line. I want to cut it back and re-flare the end but haven't been able to get my hands on a tool that will do the GM style flare yet. Nothing is an easy project... I couldn't find a good place to mount my regulator that would allow easy adjustment in the frame rail so I ended up welding a piece of tubing in the frame rail and welded the regulator bracket to the tubing. It's now offset and sticks out past the rail slightly so I can get an allen wrench on top of it to adjust it, but it's kind of out in the open. I'll probably end up welding a piece of 10ga plate to the bottom of the frame rail to give it some protection.

I finally got after building my 14bff. I got the disc brake brackets on, my new ring gear bolted to the carrier, and the pinion halfway set up - anybody have any suggestions for torquing those carrier bolts down to 120lbs?

Also, still looking for some wiring help if anybody has anything to offer....

Ok, I got a champion aluminum radiator for xmas and went to put it in this week and found that the mounting method of the stock radiator doesn't work with this one. The champion website says it's a saddle mount radiator. After some web searching I'm thinking that maybe the big block radiator mounting method for the C/K trucks will work, but am not sure. Anybody have any insight? Otherwise I'll be fabricating some brackets and trying to find the proper mounting pads, but would rather just buy the right stuff up front.

Wow, never seen a radiator with threaded hose connections.

I can't wait to hear this thing  Videos are manditory

It didn't come like that. I welded an aluminum bung on it. I'm planning on posting some videos once I fire it up

Haven't posted any updates in a while, but I've been getting some things done. I'm out of town now and these are the most current photos I've got, so i'll post some new ones when I get back.

Ran new Stainless AN tranny cooler lines, and tranny filled with dexron iv. Lokar throttle and TV cables hooked up, although TV isn't totally adjusted yet. I'm thinking about a 2" carb spacer, so will probably wait on tweaking the lines. Fabbed a mounting structure for my battery box, and got a new total power AGM battery. All plumbing is 100% complete, all electrical is complete and tested (although not complete in the photos) - I ran 1/0 tinned marine grade battery cables. Got the distributor set, which was a pain in the ass since my brother didn't put a timing tab on when he built the engine - had to set it to TDC with a feeler gauge and my eyeballs - I hope it works! Starting making up my plug wires, but still have 6 to go. I've got the thing filled with penn grade oil and basically ready to fire. My plan is to finish up the plug wires this weekend, and try to fire the thing on Sunday. I'll be posting video when I do.
