Hey all,

I am new to the site...I just purchsed an 88 GMC Jimmy Sierra Classic last week. Has original interior and all. It has 135000 original miles. That being said, where should I start and what needs to be done first. I am going to use it as a dail driver for now, but will still use it for hunting and playing in the Oregon woods. I just don't know what is the most important stuff to start replacing or checking out. Any advice is welcome thanks.

Daniel

Maintenance and tune up. Other than that, what, if any, issues does it have?

No other "issues" that I know of...It has actually been well taken care of. I replaced the stereo and speakers (as i work at a sound shop). When i pulled my carpet to run wiring today, I found that the front floor board is soaked with water (under the carpet and a black sound mat) I will do all of the fluids and then go for the tune up. Any recos on wiring/plug usage?

You can't go wrong with AC delco parts.

If you have water on the floor you have a leak some where. Look for it a seal it up.

Then drive it. :D

Thanks 1leg..I'll work on that...anyway, I will start the ts today and go from there...cant wait until it is ready for some mud :)

Yeap welcome to the disease and post some more so you can get the 15 in for pictures. Lot of great guys here and great information. When you know your going to stay pop for membership it is well worth it.

I am kind of the NOS and strange parts scrounger around her. I troll eBay every day several times.
