88 GMC V3500 ignition timing

I have an 88 GMC V3500 with a 454, th400 and a 4 barrel q-jet. I want to check the ignition timing but my book just tells me to look under the hood for a sticker that I don't have. I called GM but their computers don't go back that far. Anyone know what it could be?
