88 K5 Super slow build.

:dunno:

Would the egr play a role in the stumble/idle issue? Been reading and there was a bunch of different causes

Read that you could disconnent the lines to it. Cap everything off n see if it doesnt run better.

Not that Ive encountered. More of an idle issue, stumble on acceleration and while trying to hold speed. At least that's what Ive experienced.

It holds speeds fine just from a dead stop it sputters a lil. And if I sit at a dead stop for awhile it will drop an raise RPMs pretty bad.

Those can be/are symptoms of a bad Throttle Position Sensor.

Ohh crap... Just read on how you can tell if your Throttle Position Sensor is bad... Don't look to good. An they say the you wait the more it's going to cost. Now that just sounds super...

Anyone wanna come to Pick an Pull with me early morning tomorrow??? Think I'm ganna try an get a few TPS and see if it is that an see if it fixes it. Autozone has them but they are 75 bucks an I can't really afford that right meow...

Ok so I got only 2 from Pick an Pull put one on and drive it home from downtown. Seems a lil better but when it still has the same symptoms as before but once warm wasn't as bad. Still lil bit here an there. At stop lights it drops super low an revs back up... Even warm. Kinda don't wanna fork out the 75 doll hairs to see if it really is that. I'm going to try the other one I got an see if that one is better but dang I just want it to run some what strong. Ha Got to love the oldies. :)

On the a bright side note. Ha Got the front dome light changed out to LED. Just the front one (only one laying around) an boy ohh boy is this thing brrrrrrriiiiiight! Can't look right at it. Kinda hurts.

Just needed to vent before I do something bad.
Thanks.

Yea I need some metal work help...

I feel ya there.
I bought a cage off a member here thinkng it was a bolt in but had to "massage" it into place then decided for my situation that it be a better choice to just replace the peices that didnt want to play instead of compromising its structural integrity.

Yea the cage I just got fits in there good but plates that are suppose to bolt to the cab won't sit flush except for the far rear ones. I'm ganna take it my buddies an see what he can do. Crapy thing is he lives in a Auburn/Grass valley an I'm in a sac... Anyone close wanna help out today??? Ha I drive it to your place if that helps.

If you wanna bring it by around 1 we can take a look.
I had the same problem with the front plates too but ended up scrapping the a pillar bars to eventually replace em :haha:

Ok sounds good. I think I need to cut off the plates and reweld them. I don't think a hammer will be able to bend it that much. Ha
