'89 2WD Steering Box ports don't look right to me. I need help figuring out what's wrong.

Now that i'm at my laptop and not my cell phone that box is normal. As others have already said it is a check valve in that hole. Leave it alone and don't try picking at it.

Is that o-ring that's sitting in there part of the check valve or an o-ring that slid off of the male fitting that gets screwed in there?

Pretty damn sure it is part of the check valve.
