Whats the difference between these radiator supports other than engine size? 15641713 and 15628620

I have a 1986 K30 454 that I want to put the newer grille on

Thanks

Not everybody has a parts catalog in front of them. What is the application for each part number? Do both part numbers fit 89-91? Is one for your 86 and the other 89-91?

The first number is for the "quad" headlight style grilles. The second is for the larger dual lamp configuration, typically a work truck style.

There is no reason to be a smart ass if you don't know than don't bother answering its that simple

I have been doing alot of reading on this on the gm sites it shows 15641713 only for 5.7 and the other one for 6.2 or 7.4 the radiator support I got was bought 5 years ago from auto lighthouse grille and bezels bolts up and everything else except when I bolt the fenders up it sets to high like there is another set of body mounts under it but there isnt. Just wanting to order the correct support since apparently I got the wrong one the first time.

The core support does not fit certain engines only. I have a 454 radiator that has all the required bolt locations on my 85 core support that had a 305. GM had the fore site to set all core supports up to accept just any combination you can imagine. The reason you can not use a core support from the 81-88 on a 89-91 grill change is because of the head light buckets. The core support is the same height for all engines and the fenders from 81-91 are the same. The newer model 1988 stuff does not fir the square bodies,:rolleyes:

I understand about the headlight buckets 1989-1991 blazer suburban and 1 ton 4x4's does fit the squares because those are still squares. So than 15641713 is the correct support for a grille swap on a 1986 k30 to accecpt the horizontal quad lights.
