'89 Burb 9 Lives

Seen this on IG. More details for sure! Nice burb though.

Had a thread on the Suburban forums I started years ago but thought I'd move over to the build threads. I'm working on adding more info

Old power steering pulley got banged up on a previous install. Time for a new one. Hope this one solves the squeek

Turns out the threads on the pump shaft are toast making the pulley install impossible. Pump is looking pretty leaky. Ugh another part to replace before getting to an LS swap :cautious:

You can reuse the pump in the LS swap, just so you know. It's not a complete waste if you have to get one now.

That's good to know thx!!
I need to have it running and driving for a while after how much I've dumped into getting the 350 running before yanking it out haha. I really want the motor and tranny out of my 2008 2500hd in the burb :haha:

To do list is growing...

Tcase output seal
14bff pinion seal
Rear shock studs replacement
Power steering pump
Find replacement 14bff cover
Steering stabilizer
Exhaust manifold studs
Power steering pulley puller

Like I don't have enough necessary projects to get it going I picked up a set of 4 older PIAA lights. Two 6in driving lights and two 6inch spots. Looking to see if I can convert them to led or hid.

Front main seal and timing cover replaced. So far no oil leaks. Pulled it out in the driveway and gave the engine bay and underneath a good degreasing. Im hoping now I can keep a better eye on what's leaking to be fixed next.

Now back to checking out why it's still running with a miss so I can drive it to work.

Mocked up the PIAAs on the old push bar for a bit of fun after the other mess I had to deal with.

Important project today as a break in between laying down to roof seam sealants on the RV. Installed some H3 3000k yellow LED bulbs in the PIAA driving lights. I want to see how the light output on these H3 leds before I decide on LED or HIDs for the PIAA spots.

These bulbs fit perfectly as a replacement but they are notched to fit one way so the bulbs aren't clocked correctly for the PIAA driving lights. Just a quick notching on the bench grinder and they could be installed into the correct position.

I'm curious to see if the light out put is any brighter than the halogens. I choose the 3000k for the yellow color for weather driving.

Based on the condition of that hardware I can tell it was more fun than I could handle :rotfl:
