Alright Ive finally decided the motor and tranny need to come out the blazer n get rebuilt! Good news is i have my wrecked Iroc with a perfect L98 motor and 700r4 tranny sitting next to it! Im going to take tons of pictures and make a build thread. But I'm kinda jumping into unknown waters here.. I figure everything should pretty much bolt right up from what I've researched, however not looking forward to the wiring harness/ecm mess! Because I have no clue what all I'll need.. Any tips and advice is greatly appreciated!! please help! thx!!

I'll definitely take a ton of pictures! I'm just trying to gather everything I'll need before I dig into it to try and avoid as much complications as possible.

Are you sure I'll need to replace the fuel pump? I've got TBI already, not sure what the psi rating is on the fuel pump in the truck though. But I can steal the one out of my camaro because I just replaced it. hopefully it'll be compatable

Alright so I know I'll need:
Fuel Lines-to extend to fuel hook up on tpi.

Wiring harness-from the camaro

Questions-
Will I need to replace the ECM and complete wiring harness from truck with the one out of the camaro?

Also will I need to take the Vacuum system out of the camaro and transfer that?

Does anyone know if the tail shaft to the tranny will be the same, since they're both 700r4's? Will the one from the camaro butt up to my transfer case is my main concern.

I'll be sure to post as much as possible, any and all advice is very appreciated!!

I swapped a TPI intake into my blazer, and there are a few others that also have.

The pump from your Camaro will work in your Blazer and you need the Camaro pump. TPI runs at a much higher fuel pressure then TBI.

I'm running the 1227727 ECM from a Corvette b/c it's weather proof and I have it mounted in the engine bay. Also it's a speed density computer, so I run a MAP sensor instead of a MAF.

You can strip down the Camaro harness to use just the wires you'll need, or you can buy a stand alone harness for it if you're not comfortable with wires.

If you have any questions ask, you'll probably get more help in the injection section.

I'll probably just try and strip down the wires on the harness I have.. and use the ecm out of the camaro and mount it in a water tight box for now.. I'm just trying to get all the knowledge I can before I jump into it to have everythin go as smoothly as possible
:waytogo:

What transmission is in the truck now? If there isn't anything wrong with it it might be a better option than converting the 2 wheel drive transmission to a 4wheel drive

Theres a 700r4 in it now. But it went out on me the other day. thats why I was going to just swap both at the same time because the motor got hydrolocked and is runnin rough too. when it rains it pours right?? hah

Heres some pictures before I start..
