'89 R3500 Crew Cab 2wd to 4wd conversion & beyond

Started out with 2wd TBI350 with SM465 to current 4wd with 454, 700r4, NP241
Three forms of communication on the dash and two mapping systems actively on and also hanging from the dash too. Can’t overlook that.

Don't forget the 3-year-old warn winch that hasn't been used yet so it's still perfectly spooled up and clean and not even hooked up to the battery

It’s funny Scott is catching all the flak when I’m guilty of several of the things being made fun of.

Though I’m lacking the snorkel, limb riser cables and maxtrax boards.

I’m also lacking the fridge full of snobby micro brew ipa beers, lacroix foo foo sparkling water and $300 skottle to cook on.

The fridge gets stocked with Coors light, bottled water from Wally World and I cook on a stove from bass pro.

Driving a multi colored K5 with a 40 year old camper is also as opposite the average overlander truck as it gets too.

I was guilty of it as well. I had the rack, tent, fridge and awning on my Dodge when I had it.

Sold the Dodge, still have all the other stuff but probably gonna ship it in the near future.

I've honestly considered a snorkel, but my main focus is feeding the engine cooler air. However Nicole says no.

We've talked about using Maxtrax for snow. Nate and I helped recover a guy that had them in the snow and they did kind of work. But damn they are expensive bedside decoration!

cargo shorts and a fishing shirt and the stupid outback hat.
I got cargo shorts and a Blazer Bash shirt with my Wolverine hiking boots...
And I had to go to a wide brim hat years ago after my Dad had the skin cancer taken off of his ear. He was very stern about cover them up! And just had a 2nd round on his temple. And I can't convince myself to wear a cowboy hat...
And I don't have the sides of the hat tied up.

Don’t forget the trail bag hanging off the back of the rig
The proper term is Trasharoo.

Which I will admit is extremely handy out on the trail. No smelly garbage inside the camper. Plus there’s room to pick up crap other idiots might leave on the trail.

I love my boonie hats

After I helped a guy get his buried truck out with maxtraks, I bought a cheap set in case I get stuck and can’t winch.

As much as I hate to admit it. There are some overlandish pieces of gear that have proven really handy. The trash bag is one. I can see how traction boards could be in the right terrain.

I agree there are some handy things but are you really gonna need traction boards on the way to work?- in the city?- in the middle of summer? Pretty sure year around sun beating down on half the stuff hanging off there trucks is not good. Last I knew sunlight rapidly decreases the life of plastic and fabric. I just like giving Scott crap.
