89 Suburban is gone....added a K5 in it's place..87 V30 WONTON

@mrk5 there are no 40 cal cans available

Got the secondary battery installed sans wiring. Should have it wired up tonight. Running everything so it will be covered with a new carpet or vinyl floor. The relays and fuse box are setup under the passenger seat and will get an aluminum cover after BB.

Is there a vinyl floor option out there?

If it were me, I would use a thick rubber bed mat. I've had one in the crew cab bed for 8 years and it's really nice. It's shaped to fit around the fender wells. You'd have to cut it down for a K5, but IMO it's worth it.

That's exactly what I did with mine. Got one for a gmt800 shortbox truck. Had to trim off the length and some for the wheeltubs but it's great. It insulates and is much better to walk or kneel on. Plus cleanup is easy. Sweep or blow out with air. Fluids don't touch it. Hauled a nv4500 home from CaptRon's place in Denver back to Larry. The trans spilled a little juice, just wiped it up. No stain, no residual.

My truck has had it's bed mat since 1984. It was one of the first accessories my dad had gotten for my truck. And it's still in great shape.

Does the ones you speak of cover the cab area as well or just the bed area?

Here's mine minus the bench that is normally in there. I chopped at least 6" off the front end of the mat to make it fit and it still reaches a few inches past the cargo floor area.

Finally had some late night free time. ‍♀️ Had zero reason for lights but MAW.
Lights and second battery done. Have to install the seat, wire up cooler, mount jack and tool box. Driver window needs some tlc but not run critical. Oil and filter, swap out lug nuts and relocate cup holder. Ahhhhh

Just finished up the Hella H4 headlight upgrade install. Very nice lights and a decent improvement over the old sealed halogens. Now to find the higher watt h4 bulbs if they still make them. There used to be 75/130 iirc versus the 55/130

Okay, the lights did come with two sets of bulbs, I missed the higher watt set last night. The originals were 55/60 and the others are 90/130. BIG difference. I didn't realize the housings came with a set. Going on a trip this weekend so we shall see how many times I get flashed lol. All loaded up and heading to the trees! Pics to follow along with GoPro hopefully.

Wow, I didn't know you could get bigger than 55/100.
Yeah, when I saw the other member said he had H4 bulbs I got excited. They're what we used for racing prior to HID/LED combos. To be honest they might be a bit bright for street use. I'll take some pics when I hit the desert to my checkpoint tonight
