89 Suburban is gone....added a K5 in it's place..87 V30 WONTON

Went to the scrap yard today. 91 V3500 350/4l80e/205 with aluminum shell crew cab full of gas and small tool box. 6270 pounds. I couldn't find the thread with crew cab weights @mrk5

Did you buy any of the stuff from the V3500? I would get out there to buy some of the stuff, but my truck is broke down. I have been working a lot of overtime, and have not had any free time to work on my V3500.

I went to the recycle place on Sunset and weighed my 91 V3500. If there was a 91 there I would have snatched it up for sure.

I read your post wrong. I thought you went to a junk yard, and found a junked 1991 V3500. You meant that you went to a scrap yard to weigh your V3500. I weighed my V3500 at a scrap yard with full tanks and me in it, and it came to close to 7000 pounds. My truck has some very heavy 36" bias ply tires on it, and other heavy duty aftermarket parts from places like ORD, DIY4X4, and Ruffstuff that make it heavier than it was stock.

Finally got a Dana 60 for the blazer and snagged these 17" H1 wheels today. All parts have finally been collected except the 60 crossover steering arm.

Ed has been way beyond my mechanical skills since we were kids.

The 70 is from your dually and the 60 came from the 80 tow truck that red EOD is parting out.

Maybe, but we all have our specialties. Your art and graphics skills are 100% to my zero. And you always did kick my ass on a dirt bike. Haha!

I am just glad that truck is going to live on in some kind of bad a$$ GM truck of some sort. That truck was a Las Vegas native truck that lived it's whole life in Vegas. It was bought at Fairway Chevrolet in 1985. It belonged to a guy that owned the biggest hardware store in Las Vegas, until Home Depot, Lowe's, and health problems caused the store to go out of business after 40-years. When I would drive that truck around, I had a couple of people that had worked for the PO of that truck, come up to me and say they remember that truck when he bought it new.

I know it's part of a couple of tow trucks in Lincoln County and 1 dually from CA. Then parts on my 91 and the 77 K5 plus Ed's K5. The cab stayed local too. It revived a truck that had been rolled. The bed and tailgate went to UT for restoration projects

If I'm wanting to put disc brakes on the 70 what would be needed? I'm running H1 wheels, so I want to keep it close to the dually width correct? I also read that 14 bolt stuff works, is that so? I recall there is a member that runs a 70 on his K5, can someone tag him so I can read his thread?
