89 Suburban is gone....added a K5 in it's place..87 V30 WONTON

Any thoughts on making the bolt run parallel to the frame?

There;s not much room unless running a smaller bolt. The ends of the crossmember are already cut off. I can plate it back in and run them parallel.

The ac / heater motor assembly was easier to pull due to time constraints on finishing the coil swap. Does anyone have a heater only version they want to get rid of? I can live with a blockout plate for the two events coming up but don’t want to go without a heater unit overall. AC can be done later but not critical. I’ll be posting a wanted ad also.

Also need to replace the heater core while apart. Any recommendations for a certain brand etc ??

If I remember right the cores are different from ac/no ac. I have a complete no ac assembly inside and outside already removed from truck. Seems like I was holding it for somebody here, let me see if I can figure out who and if they still want it.

37s x6 showed up today yeah buddy. I think these are some of the best tires around for what I do. Getting closer and can’t wait.

I know there’s calculators for this but some actual user info is always good to consider too. Overall my K5 is a lightweight compared to a lot here. No winch, small tube bumpers, 10 bolt front, aluminum v8, th400 and np205. I’m going to be running 37s and except for BB will carry two spare tires. When finished with coils it will hit the scale loaded.

Will 4:88s be better than 4:56? Right now it has 3:73 and gets 18mpg and cruises at 75 no issue. It is a mixed use truck and will run around the state but not nationwide type runs. Eventually a magnum will solve this but until then what does the collective recommend?

I will tell you from experience that I had a k5with more weight than yours and had the th350 with 205, 37" tires and 4.88, it was revving up too high to keep up with 68-70 mph traffic and the result was overheating.
I put a 700r4 and all was good.
If you don't plan on changing your th400, and you want mixed use, go 4.56. It will be better than your 3.73 by far.
If you think you might change to an overdrive at any point, go 4.88

I think he’s supposed to go to a 8l90 eventually

Yeah, no OD stay away from 4.88's.

With OD, 4.88's or even 5.13's...

When I had a TH350 and 35's, 3.42's felt fine.

700R4 and 38's, 4.56 isn't enough...

I came across a deal I've been searching for, for YEARS. Low mileage 4x4 extra cab long bed 7.3 XLT model Superduty that didn't break the bank. All original except the grill insert. I now have my tow rig that's looking for a trailer. BB2020 is the goal!

Low mileage and clean, nice score! They are getting hard to find on the older 7.3L ones. Most have 250k+ around here and they want a fortune for them still.
