89 Suburban is gone....added a K5 in it's place..87 V30 WONTON

Signed up for a tech class on TIG welding today. Small personalized classes with only 4 students at a time. Beggining TIG for me since I'm a noob. @AgDieseler has me impressed. Basically it's for work and building custom aluminum trophies is the #1 driving factor but the skills can be used after hours also on the Blazer. Starts Monday:saweet:

Outstanding! You’re so going to enjoy it. It’s yoga and meditation for gearheads. I’ll follow with interest.

Envious of you guys... I wanted to be a welder when is was in my 20s now i’m 51 and can’t see good enough to do anything but stick shit together.

Don't feel bad I'm in the same boat. Getting light close to the work piece is key for me. I'm trying to learn before I can't do it at all.

When I was in high school I wanted to do underwater welding, but I never did. Now that I'm older I realized that was a short lived profession between death and getting burned out and serious injuries.

PS: I can't weld worth a sh!t

Almost have the battery box finished up to mount on the fender well, then mounting the air box permanently. Capped the front bumper ends and bolted down. Light harness will be tied out of the way till there's more time. A little forward progress is still progress. Done for the night.

Battery box fitting is almost finished. Clearances the hinge and welded standoffs for it so it’s just a socket install from below. Pretty cool for me. Rear bumper is tacked up and will cut gussets and license plate tabs then call it a night. I did not realize till tonight the registration has lapsed son of a bit**! One more thing to do.

The pool of candidates is frustrating out here. We have run the gamet and just prefer to work a little longer to compensate till the right worker is found.

HIRE ME!!! I know how to install that stuff with intriguing angles, and a cool random bubble texture !!!
:pimp:

:haha:

Lookie lookie at this cookie! Ol Ralph Wiggums is outside to cause some mischief. I have to thank @Fastereddie and his brother again, seriously, I'm blown away at everything they do for me with no hesitation, thank you brother.

Congrats! Plenty of time to spare before the Bash.
Yeah, but we still have some loose ends to finish up though. Bleed brakes, battery hold down, front output seal and driveshaft, fluids and bolt check, charge the shocks and bumps, trim sheet metal, c.c. vent hose, what else can you think of @Desert_K5 ?

Stop yacking and do work!
I never stop working. Right now I’m working on breakfast and coffee. Next will be working on waking the girls. Then off to the tire shop for new tires on the borrowed trailer, then when I get back, change the dually trans fluid. That’s just the first half of the day! Btw, how’s your steering hanging in there? Good now?
