Please educate me. As the title indicates, I am going to put a '99 454 into a '90 K5 Blazer that had a 350.

I have been reading about mounts. Can I use the existing "humps" as they are called or will I have to find some out of a BBC truck? The "humps" being the steel part that connects to the frame.

Also, the actual motor mts are the BBC different from the SBC?

Is there a year I should ask for at the parts house?

Oops! I use the wrong term. I said humps and after further reading they are called towers ( I guess not to be confused with shock towers).

Maybe that will help.

SBC and BBC both use the same engine mounts, the only concern is that the pan doesn't hit the crossmember, in some cases the frame towers are taller to prevent that. You should be able to remove your SBC and swap the engine mounts to the BBC (to make sure there aren't any differences between the newer BBC) and drop the BBC back in place.

I have already test fit the BBC and built a new crossmember so that should not be a problem.

I just got concerned by reading different forums and felt more comfortable with the answers on CK5 so I asked here.

I wanted to get new mounts and wanted to make sure it get the right ones.

Thanks for the input.

Any more info. I should know.
