So I know where a 91 4L80E with the NP205 T-Case and stock adapter for $1200 is. The guy says it is in good working order. I would like to do a swap on my 72 in the future and know this is a one year only setup so is $1200 a good deal?

I wouldn't pay more than that but all depends on how badly you want it. That would be the highest end I'd pay for it. The adaptor alone is worth more than half that so it would be the right deal to the right person.
It's what I sold mine for.
I am not real concerned with buying aftermarket in the future so are the adapters available just as good. Do they add extra length compared to this stock one? I would spend the money for new if it is just as good or better. I just happen to see it and wonder if it is more compatible with stock otherwise Ill just buy all new.
