91' Blazer Build Up.... Scary soft ride

I tried to pivot on that upper one but it wasnt goin to work and i couldnt get a drill in there so i didnt end up even using that upper hole.

Yes those are 52 inch spring up front im not happy with that angle either i will be switching to at least 7 inch shackles maybe 7.25".

Well i got the SYE kit installed today and the rear driveline. I need a new socket to install the front driveline and no stores are open so i will do that tomorrow.

well i got the traction bar installed after a few mods and the front drive shaft and took it for a spin around the block... with 52's and 63's its super soft.. scary soft the steering needs a lot of adjustment and i got speed wobble at 30mph. I kno the tires arn't balanced they are just some 38's that came with the rims when i bought them so once the 42's are on there and balanced it should help the wobble a little bit. But i think im going to have to add a leaf or 2 to the front spring pack to stiffin it up a little bit

Well i got my shocks mounted. picked up some ford towers for $35.

My drivelines should get here wednesday and i ordered a traction bar from ORD today. the plan is to go wheelin saturday but we'll see.

Will these towers work WITH the fender well still on?

Any updates for us ? ? ?

If the shock extends past the frame-- in the vertical direction, or outward towards the tire -- some trimming will be required. I cut a bit out of my inner fender or whatever you call those to get my towers to fit.

BTW, walter-tango-foxtrot is the rubber hose coupled with a piece of copper tubing? :dunno:

PLEASE tell me that's not fuel line? Looks too small diameter to be going to the heater core?

Hey guys sorry i've been away r awhile getting situated at myew job.

I doubt they will fit with the fender wells, im sure i will have to do some trimming, but until i get the ride dialed in im not to concerned about them.

That is the hose going to the heater core. after my heater core went out i spliced into the hose to bypass the core and now with the heater core replaced i ill have to get a new hose soon.

And as for updates, well theres none i havent had a chance to do any work on it latley. but as soon as i start work on it again i will be sure to update

How do these inprove the ride? My trucks pretty much stock , my biggest upgrade is a 4" lift w/blocks an 33x12.5`s ...so would these be a good idea for me? Any thing to improve the "truck" ride ya know..?

Most of that 'truck' ride is from the springs themselves...

If your springs don't have the slipper pads on each leaf and are square cut you could pull them apart and work em to improve ride. Take the sharp edges off the ends of the leaf, radius the ends of the leafs and paint them with a few coats of epoxy enamel. Add some greasable shackle bolts/bushings. Consider moving the shackle mount forward to gain a better shackle angle too. All that plus good quality shocks will help your ride and flex.

Or you could get some softer front springs...just don't go too soft as that creates more problems than a poor ride.

Im getting these as soon as I have some disposable income. My new RC springs are rounded off on the ends, not to sure about the pads though....Ill have to check.I hate the though of pull that crap apart again.I was way to hard for me the first time.
And I have the RC 8000 shocks.SO next week or so we`ll see how it rides,it has to better that 30 yr old stock stuff.
Then a shackle flip [i think] down the road.

Greasable bolts/bushings made a noticeable ride difference for me. It was still stiff (old 4" Rancho's at the time) but not quite as jarring.

Those are two chamber shocks right? If so, you have them mounted upside down and they aren't doing anything.

Ok thats what i thought but i asked the guys at 4wheel parts and some guys on these forums and they said it didnt matter which way they were mounted is this incorrect?

Monotube shocks can be mounted either way, dual chamber (like those) need to be mounted the other way to feed the reservoir. Flip them over and I bet that fixes a lot of your super soft ride issues.
