Any one ever changed their doors on their 73-75? I know where a set of 91 doors are with power mirrors and windows for 150 bucks. Is there any structural difference or body line difference. And can the window frame simply be cut out? I know the 69-72 blazer doors where simply truck doors with the window frame cut off. I know they did have extra support in the door where it latched when closed. Is this the same on 73-75? Any help would be great. I think this is a good deal to get the power windows. My truck already has a painless kit with the wiring for both.

Yea, you can do it. By cutting out the window frame you just need to weld in something to attach the end caps over the holes. It's nothing structural the doors are the same. Isay, get'um if thier cheap.

It's probably easier to swap the guts from the power doors into your doors.

You think it would be easier? I was thinking that too but I dont know if they bolt in or not. My doors are in really good shape. I just want the power options.

All the window stuff will swap no problem. You might have to drill out some rivets but no big deal.

I made the mistake of putting the e/ windows in now I can't wait to go back to the cranks...... sometimes they are lucky to work.

Why what was the problem with them? I know there are aftermarket electric windows that bolt in. I bought a set for my 71.

Factory switches go out real easy and not cheap to replace. The motors [though new] always struggled the glass up the tracks. SSSSllloowww movement, Of course even my 85' silverado [bought new] was like that.

this is new to me. Maybe I sould think about getting the aftermarket set up. Maybe some grease will make them go up better. And if the aftermarket suck ill just send them back.

The windows usually go up and down slow for several different reasons. Bad ground and they are slow, worn out motor and they're slow, dry window tracks and once again slow, or a combo of all the above. I haven't tried it yet but i heard that installing relays for the windows makes them go up and down very fast.

just swap the guts you can even use your original window and it should be a straight froward bolt in swap gm didint use rivets on the blazers the only thing you gotta worry about is cutting a big enough hole in the side of the door and the body to run the wires and make sure they are in the rubber tunnel thing that came with electric doors so the wires don't get cut and short out. :k5:
