The old man
@bigblock454 has made me the proud new owner of his sweet 91 big block 3/4 ton burb

. Unfortunately I was born with exactly zero leave it alone in my blood so the off-road design 2wd to 4wd front hangers are already here, got them on the 'merica day sale

along with rear shackle flip and super shackles, motor mounts, steering box brace and whatever else I forgot I ordered....Ill be ordering ord leafs here at some point, and stuffing the kingpin 60 in it that gm should have... the source of the 60 is undecided, either robbing it out of my 99 6.5 k2500 sas rig that hasn't moved in years or my axle rack that has a crusty dually 60 in it somewhere. the block of bigs is here to stay, the 4l80 is here to stay(my left foot is lost), may run a divorced 205 so I don't have to touch the trans idk yet. aiming for 4'' lift and 35s to match my 91 k5. There's zero rot on this bad larry, only rust is surface on the roof since the paint got up and left, Ill be taking a stab at painting this unit, figured its a smart choice for my first automotive paint job to be a 50000 sq ft 2 tone dual metallic job....

good thing these 2 colors are budget friendly at 820$ a gallon. Id really like to get the ac going again considering the air here in Indiana has the consistency of mashed potatoes. any suggestions on upgrading from the shit r4 compressor and getting the rear ac working again appreciated. a matching bumper set to my k5 will be in the works eventually and rock sliders probably made of 2x6 or 2x8 rectangle tube to be steps and kinda match the vibe the running boards had that we peeled off years ago, frame tie ideas appreciated. A baseline overland roof rack may be in the future if I can bring myself to drill the required holes. The overall purpose of this unit is to be a badass go anywhere tow pig that's comfortable to pilot and ready for cross country trips. No wheeling intended, just 4wd capability for remote roads. Ive been getting into going to/volunteering at ARA rally races and have been on washed out roads that require 4wd to recover rally cars. plus what looks better than a 60 under there? This will be my first sas with a 2 post lift, to say I'm excited is an understatement. constructive or destructive critisism appreciated, welcome to another episode of too many projects
