91 California Suburban

That does look pretty cool. Just a few weeks ago at the local hardware store I saw a "Western Hauler" edition late '80s Burb. Never heard of them but apparently the company is still around.

I`ve seen a few high top conversions for sale, but never in person. It`d be pretty cool it you de-gayed it some, and put 1 ton running gear in it. Would make a great weekend camper, trail toy, swap meet hauler. I`d pimp it.

teenager huh? mid 20's perhaps??

what exactly makes this thing "GAY" the nicer, plush, clean interior? the 1/2 ton running gear? just curious what makes a truck NOT gay, maybe Rhino-lined interior and only running "1-tons" ?? Huge motor? biggest tires than can fit under a truck? just curious :wink1:

I guess i'm gay for liking my nice clean, carpeted plushed interior and not wanting to run huge tires and sticking with my little 35's, and only running half of a 1-ton setup axle assembly :D:thinking::whistle::tongue1:

About the truck, yes i have seen a few of them running around as well, they are interesting, and seem roomy :D

I'd say tacky, not gay...

All the wood sh!t would be a good start. Wood is for houses and fires, not truck interiors.

The rims are :puke:

Actually the high top part of the 'burb also brings the :puke: (in my personal opinion of course)

In general I loathe "dealer options", as the vast majority are poor quality, tacky, cheap and gimmicky. This one has all of that going for it.

yeah, maybe that wood is alittle overboard, that much anyways,,, i didn't look at the wheels though. :p:

I wish I was in my 20`s again... perhaps too gay was a bit much. I guess I was thinking dated, like a late 70`s-80`s conversion van. I don`t need a Rhinoed interior, but the wood and the plushy 80`s velour seats are not my taste, somee updating is all. My 88 Burb is dead stock inside down to the factory am/fm, vinyl benches, and rubber mat. Perhaps I used the term too loosely, didn`t mean to offend anyone.

No prob, figured that. Still a poor choice of wording on my part. I do like the high top for a weekend woods trip though.

Ther is a "high roof" burb in Flagstaff and I have always thought it was ugly.....And TJ, you bring the ghay :D :haha:

Looks like a Starcraft or Gladiator conversion kit. Not only ugly but poor workmanship. Worked in the dealerships when these things were the rage. OMG, I hated spinning wrenches on these things. Nothing ever went back together the same again.

Its only 30 miles from me, might take a peak in person ;-). And yes, woodgrain interior sucks!!!

Well, anyone who chooses to surround themselves with that much wood must be the ghey.

I'd own one:D I like soft cushy seats and I always liked all the wood trim and cup holders. I'd lift it a little with soft springs and mall terrains... it'd be like driving a sofa down the highway:doah:
