i have a 91 crewcab and want to get rid of the 454 for a 12 valve, i wanted to know if i can leave the 4l80e along with the transfer case and just swap out the motors , i have tryed researching this and have found mixed reviews on whats best, thanks for any and all info that pops up here

It's doable but be prepared to shell out the money for adapters and a stand alone controller to run the 4L80. Not to mention the motor mounts and crossmember

What would have to be done to the crossmember and i should only need one adapter for the engine to tranny, also if anyone sees this and knows of some sites or places in new york that specialize in conversions would be greatly appreciated as i have never done this before but want to do this on my own if possible

You'll need the adapter plate for the GM auto as well as a flex plate

Now i have a whole truck not just the cummins motor so would it be easier to swap over the whole drivetrain than

The front axle is the big hangup there, completely different suspensions between the two trucks. You wouldn't be able to use the GM axle with the OE NP241DHD transfer case as the driveshaft is on the opposite side.
