91 front grill emblem questions

I bought a new grill for my K5. This is the center insert where the emblem is supposed to go. No one repops them from that I can see. Only up to 86/87 I believe they do.

This picture is my grill/emblem. I was told the emblem may not be able to be removed and moved to the new grill. I have not taken off the grill to examine it as of yet, but wondering if anyone has had experience removing it. That being said would any other bowtie emblems possibly work from older of newer year models.

What is the spacing of the studs in the back.
And what are the dimensions?
I know I have somewhere an 89 grille but I also have a loose emblem that looks similar to this.
I will try to verify if I find my grill.

The square box on the grill is 3x3.... center hole to center hole is 1.5 inch of the new grill.

My truck is presently getting the 3-power windows a wiring upgrade curtesy of the kit from ( https://k5squared.com/product/k5-squared-full-power-relay/ )
so, I cannot measure the size of the bowtie itself.

OER use to make it but its on back order until December. WTF OER! This is what I used on my last two 89-91 builds. It just glues on. I use clear RTV.

I have tried to remove the stock one but it just messes it up and takes the gold with it. Not sure how to touch that up on the inside. Outside paint would chip but would be fine temp use.

I have seen the 83-88 2 piece emblem used and it doesn't look too bad.

Once I get the grill off, I will take a look at it and see of its worth trying to remove it.

Crazy , that OER has it available in 8 months, ouch.

Thoughts on painting my new grill all black...I kinda like that look

I wasn’t able to find one so I just used vinyl wrap.

There was a discussion here not long ago about whether the GMT800 version could work. I don't know if anybody had real conclusions.

I think I bought one and it was a little too big. I just assumed it was for a 800

Its not removable unfortunately. It may come off but will take the gold with it. I would not paint the chrome grille since it chips too easy.
