91 K5 Building were p.o. left off

Lol, honestly I don't know. It wouldn't work when I brought it home. Even with it not working it was fairly warm in the cab surprisingly.

I never had a problem with it. I'm sure you will, but check all the connections involved with it whenever you get around to it. Maybe something came unhooked?

It's possible. I really haven't looked at anything besides checking the fluids and dropping the t-case.

Is it possible the mounts are bad and the front output is rubbing on the crossmember. It happened to mine once and I thought it was a bearing in my 205 going out.

That is a good thing to check. When I went from a stock front shaft to a 1350, the CV was so much bigger that is was contacting my crossmember, so I had to clearance it for now until I build my own crossmember. However, I think in this scenario this is not what is going on (unless he was driving home in 4WD, the front output wouldn't be spinning the whole time so even if it was touching, you wouldn't hear anything). Like I said, I will put money on that it's his rear shaft either the yoke pulled too far out of the spline, or his pinion is pointed up in the rear with a normal 2-joint shaft...or probably both.

But, 454Sub has a good point and it should be something you check when you put it all back together.

Still waiting on the chain that was suppose to be here Tuesday. I hate waiting for parts!

I replaced the chain and installed the front locker. Noise is still there. I'm just going to deal with it for the time being.

Next month theirs a group of us going to tuttle creek. Pretty excited to see how it does.

Took it out for a little spin yesterday. Still need to make a bumper for the front for the winch.

Glad you bumped this. I've been wondering about it. I'm excited to hear about how it does with a front locker.

Also interested to see if I also need to invest in a front locker.
