91 K5 -Procrastination Build - bikini top!

nice, your list is shorter than mine, what day are you working on stuff this weekend?

Probably Sunday but I'm not sure, we'll be doing something for the wife's birthday so I've got to iron that out. I'll let you know when plans are finalized.

I'll leave this here for tonight. I don't have any pics but I'm hoping some other guys do, hopefully I can get them tomorrow. I also have a video but I need to upload it.

I'll add my pictures later when I get on a computer. The blazer did awesome and really showed the quality of the build! It had a great shake down and just needs a few finishing touches IMO :thumb:

Cody (83chevyk5blazer) and I went to a park called Boggs & Boulders with a semi local group. We had a great time and hit some neat obstacles. I met some really nice folks there and definitely want to go back. By my own fault I was late getting there so we didn't get to see a lot of the park, we'll try to get back there in a month or so after it cools off - did I mention it was hot?

My daughter has a couple of videos, if I can get her to stay home long enough I'll transfer and post them here. Two of the other guys were taking pics and video all day so I'll grab those for here as they're posted on another site.

Yesterday was a light "test & tune" type of day for me since it was the first time out. I'm really happy with how well it performed, my only glitches for the day appear to be some wires that melted from touching the exhaust and something killed my head and tail lights (possibly related). Other than that it ran really well all day. My temp did seem to run a little high around 210 w/195 t-stat so I might drop to a 180 to keep that number manageable. I had one time where it got up to 215 so I let it rest a while to cool off, that said, it never over heated during the day.

I'm really pleased with the front Power Lock. TARussell and I rebuilt it and changed to clutch/steel count trying to lock it up and it seems to have worked. *I don't think* it one wheeled any but the videos will tell the truth so I'm anxious to see them. It steers really easy as well.

Man it's so cool to see you finally got it off road and actually got to use it. It's been a LONG time coming for sure.

I gotta ask, did you get that real giddy, "excited to the point where it's like you've been injected with a cocktail of addrenaline and Redbull", and nervous like there is half a dozen butterflies in your stomach that have had the same Redbull cocktail?"

I get that feeling when I'm fixin to back the truck off the trailer.

I had that nervous feeling from Wednesday until I backed it off the trailer Saturday night. All Thursday and Friday my mind was racing trying to think of anything I might have forgotten or overlooked. :haha:

Any carnage from anyone in the group?

That might be a fun camping/wheeling weekend trip after I get my engine issues sorted out.

No carnage that I know of, Cody and I got away without issues. Yeah, once it cools off it works be a good place to camp and ride. They have a building with showers and bathrooms which was a plus for my wife.

My engine/fuel injection is still giving my problems. Once I pay off the debt I put myself into for this semester of school I'm going to start a 5.3 swap.
