91 K5 -Procrastination Build - bikini top!

Stevo!! Sorry I didn't call you back a couple of weeks ago. :doah:

Hopefully I'll have more pics Fri evening or Monday. If the inspector likes it today they'll pour the slab tomorrow, if not... :dunno: At the rate they're going I think it'll be done the middle or end of next week, then the sucky part starts - electrical. I'd like to try and do it myself but I just don't know enough about it. Who am I kidding, I don't know sheet about running wiring to a new building. :rotfl:

I'll be down your way next weekend (the 20th) . . . think it'll be done? Either way I wanna come check it out!

Yeah, definitely come by! The building should be finished just no electrical.

is there such thing as a shop-warming party?!?!

That is entirely possible. :D We've been trying to coordinate a get together for a while now, might have to do it in Mobile.

Btw, We have concrete this morning! Trucks we lined up on the street when I left. :woot:

How about a "Stock the shop" party. We had a "Stock the Bar" party when we got married then baby showers for the kids...and this is a new addition to the family so to speak.:D

Sounds great, my flavor of choice for the shop is SnapOn. :D

CONCRETE!!

They installed the roll up door today and it looks really good. No pics of that but I'll snap another this weekend. Next week the crew will come back out and build the loft in the rear of the shop. Once that's done I'll get on the electrical.

Build yourself a small retaining wall about where the walk board is. Let it wrap around the back and you have the perfect place for a nice patio/outdoor room. Get some shade cloth to cover it and it will help keep the side of the building cooler too.

Is it gonna be a loft or a man-pad??

Actually, it's going to be a place for my girls to play - for now. They've been bugging me forever to buy one of those little cheesy plastic storage buildings at Lowes for them to use as a playhouse. I figured with the loft I can give them a place to play with power and a window a/c unit to beat the heat. Later on when they outgrow it I'll have a good spot for storage or whatever.

I think my next project (next year) will be screening in my back porch to do just what you're talking about.

She's all wired up and steadily filling up with junk!
