91 K5 -Procrastination Build - bikini top!

Yes!

It's also surprising how much stuff I had crammed into a single car garage. :doah:

Nice Lair!! I really like how you did your rig and the fact the body still resembles a k5..It looks good, proportionate and functional.. I know everybody is building purpose built rigs these days; which isn't a bad thing but I like that shes not boat sided, exo caged, chopped, channeled, or sectioned.. Good ol fashioned bruiser! Nice work! Great lines on the fender trimming and dig the SXs :waytogo:

Thanks! I'd love to have a buggy as much as the next guy but the reality is its a family wheeler that I don't intend to enter in TTC plus I still loved driving a big truck to work every now and then. Don't tell any body but I'm even considering :gasp: getting it painted. Lol!

Yep. I've also got a set of weld wheels for it whenever I can afford some Inner Air Locks.

I'm jealous, I wish I had a nice shop! Nice setup. Really like the way you built the play house above to help justify the shop with the wife? :D

No, she told me to build it after someone went thru her jeep one night. She said she wanted to start parking it in the garage for security so I needed to build whatever I needed to get my stuff out of there. :D

Don't you worry, it stays inside all the time now. :thumb:

You've got an eye for style, best looking H1 wheel set up ive seen to date! As for the random pic, I snap pics of my truck in the dark for godssake, finish something at 2am and instinctively I pull out the phone and snap a picture. So when I go back through my pictures, all I see are these blurry, dark, ****ty pics. haha

Thanks but I hate to tell you I think I'm about to take them off. I'm about to start tearing the d60 down for a Jana76 project (70 gears in a 60) so I'll most likely put it back together as a SRW with the Weld wheels. I wanted to wait for inner bead locks but it's just easier now since it'll already be apart.

I hate to get side tracked on this before I've ever taken it out but the opportunity came up to do the swap AND pocket some money to start working on a new motor. :dunno:

Cant say that I can hold it against ya. Haha I've seen the Jana 76 swap, pretty sweet stuff, what I wanna know is, who the hell came up with that one? Haha good luck! I've got a bunch of BBC 427 stuff if. you want to build. a motor. I was gonna build one for my truck, but I think I wanna do a 496 or a 540

Thanks for the offer but I've got a 4 bolt 454 block and a new steel crank to work with. I was thinking about doing a 496 (like folkenheath) but I'm afraid the build/cost would get out of hand so I'll use what I have. I can use the 781 oval port heads I'm running now as they are pretty fresh. My only real dilemma is what carb and cam ($ hyd roller or not $).

Roller, period. Big blocks have a nasty habit of chewing the lobes off flat tappet cams. On an idle, big blocks don't have the greatest oiling system, and the top end suffers as a result. And when it does, the money you saved will just get eaten up by ANOTHER new cam and lifters and gaskets. My buddy had the same dilemma, then his chewed a cam. Just my $.02

You know I've always heard about big blocks killing cams but I've never had one do it. I've run bbc's for over 20 years in my wheeling trucks without those issues. That said, my current motor is a POS but Its the fault of the previous owner not the motor itself. Maybe I've just been lucky. :dunno:

I've always run rollers in mine. Never had a problem, little more expensive, but even.in theory they're way better. And a little more HP to boot ;)

She's all wired up and steadily filling up with junk!
