91 Suburban, Family truck build. She done :(

So the 700r4 is doing what they do best and dying. Still holds gears but the pump is making a racket and I'm fairly certain cracked the flex plate again. And the converter doesn't like to engage till 1200 rpm...

So manual swap time. Its getting a 465 for the time being until I find an nv4500 that I can afford.

Also started on a 3rd row. Hopefully that is wrapped up tomorrow.

We're friends now

I cut some material up and laid it out but it’s not stuck together, gotta go get the gas.

I like how you chopped up the stock brackets. Are you going to drill and bolt it through the end pieces or the frame?

Yeah, after I posted that I got to thinking about the gas tank being in the way for bolts towards the middle of the body.

Oh yeah, I was talking about your 3rd row set up.

Well, I'm very happy with how the Suburban is running. This weekend we went up to Stony Lonesome OHV park up in North Alabama, all total we drove about 11 hours round trip highway and one trail day. With the exception of swapping my hubs out, all the tools stayed in my tool bag and it handled everything that was thrown at it.

I do have a couple new dents, but that is the risk of wheeling a bus in the woods I suppose.

The 465 is an awesome trans and I'm very happy I swapped it in place of the 700r4, I don't think it would have made the trip. Granny low makes wheeling a breeze! One day I am planning a nv4500 in order to go freeway speeds but for mow I think it will do.
