Just recently bought my 1991 V1500. Completely stock with 185,000 miles on it. I will be building into a Camping/Hunting rig that will not be driven much. There is NO rust on this Burb and I will not be cutting any sheetmetal. I will be using a lot of parts from my Jimmy crawler.

Plans-

1 ton axle swap with 4.56's and lockers
3" TC EZ ride front springs
Rear 4" ORD shackle flip
Crossover steering
ORD steering brace
Bilsteins
16" factory Steel wheels with Dog dish hubcaps
33" Cooper Discoverer STT
custom front bumper with Warn 8274
Custom rear bumper with tire carrier
Fender flares (maybe)
Rear storage for tools -not sure on design yet

Here is Smokey as it sits now except for the running boards, those have been removed. I will be doing the lift and axle swap this week, weather permitting. My springs should be in today.

A little update. I was able to get the 14BFF in the other night before the rain set in. I went with 3" blocks for now until I have to time to install the shackle flip.. Turkey season starts next weekend and I need to get it done before then. Still need to replace the conversion Joint, hook up brake lines, hook up E brake, and paint the steelies.

My dog dish hubcaps came in the mail yesterday. Rain is supposed to clear out by Sunday morning so I can get the D60 installed along with the crossover steering and ORD steering brace. Slowly but surely this thing is coming together.

I will probably order tires first of next week. I'm still deciding between a few-
1-Cooper Discoverer STT
2-Cooper Discoverer ST Maxx
3-Goodyear Duratracs

Those blocks will work just fine.

They'll do what I want for now. I already have the shackle flip, so I figured I would use it. This Burb won't see much wheeling, so I may not even do the shackle flip. :dunno:

I love the subs! I have 2 of them...

'scribed :waytogo:

Finally got some time this weekend to get some work done on the Burb. Got the D60 installed with the help of some good friends. Hell, we even smoked a pork butt while we did the work. I still need to install the 2wd steering box and brace. I threw the hubcaps on just to see what it was going to look like. I still need to paint the wheels though. I will be ordering tires sometime this week. It will look much better with some bigger meats on it.

Got the 10 bolt and stock springs out

D60 going in. (amazing what beer will make your friends do)

axle is in

And a shot with the hubcaps on

It still sags a little in the rear, so I may throw a zero rate in to level it out. Since the zero rate is bolted to the spring, is it safe to add if I'm using blocks in the rear? I will eventually be doing the shackle flip which should put the rear where I want it.

I'd skip the zero rate for now, wait till you do the flip. Then you'll only have to get new u bolts once. You also might need to adjust pinion angle once the flip is done.

those front springs are new right?

they may settle down a bit.....

oh and wheres the smoked pork butt photos?

STT Maxx tires. I'd wait on the zero rates too.

You would probably be fine, but I would not use zero rates and lift blocks together. Maybe an overload?

The springs are new, so I think I'll wait and see what happens.
Forgot to take pics of the butt, I promise it was very tasty. We just had BBQ nachos with the leftovers. Yummmmm

I could put an overload in, didn't even think of that.

Got the steering boxes swapped out this afternoon and will hopefully finish the crossover stuff tomorrow.

A buddy of mine just found me a set of BFG KM2's for $400. 75% tread and they come with a set of 16" steelies. Can't pass up that deal!
