92 Dodge tow rig build

I bought a 92 Dodge club cab with 186k, 4.10s, 5 spd and a flip over gooseneck hitch for 2500.00 tonight. The plans are to clean it up real good and use it for my new work truck and tow rig.
The build part will consist of a switch to manual windows and rubber floor mats, also gonna go with a gm hydro boost conversion for better breaks and a 14 bolt with factory disc brakes/parking brake. Probably gonna hop it up a little but not much. Thinking about swapping the nv4500 out of my k5 and putting the Getrag in the k5 but that will depend on the difference in lengths since I have already bought new drive shafts for the k5. Eventually a new paint job and some light body work to.

Why swap out the Dana 70 for a 14B? Aren't there disk brake kits for the 70's? It should already have a hydraulic booster too. I've never owned a 1st gen, but I thought they had pretty decent brakes.:dunno:

I don't believe the getrag is all that bad, as long as you don't do much to the engine. It's the stress of higher torque that eats those transmissions up.

I'm not opposed to a newer 70/80 with disc and e-brake, I just think the 4.10s will be easier to find in a 14 bolt :dunno:
Hydro boost wasn't till 94 and up. This is my 3rd first gen and my biggest complaint is the brakes.
Yeah I'm undecided on the trans but since I have both I think the Getrag will be better suited in the k5 since the truck will be towing.
