93 Corvette LT1 6-spd

It’s all dead nodes and not much more than a fire extinguisher holder, but it looks cool and wasnt much more of a package add-on to my targa brace
You would be surprised how much this would actually stiffen the car.

It definitly can’t hurt.

He’s not surprised by that

His referencing the fact that it is not an actual cage
Yes and Yes. That whole setup would be way better as a “x” between those four mounting points.

Just found this thread- absolutely love this car! Best color! My 1995 z28 borrowed the color scheme. Same tan leather interior too! Great for donuts and straight line acceleration…
Really miss that car sometimes but it sure didn’t handle like a vette!

I bet your vette gets reasonable fuel mileage too when you’re not having a party on the skinny pedal?

Also, does the vette have the same gear/ shifter lockout mechanism as the t-56 in the Camaros? Some kind of emissions nonsense. The Transmission had solenoids in the top cover- tried to keep you from shifting into 2nd unless under certain conditions… speed and rpm needed to be correct for the shift gate to be avail… there are workarounds, but If I was just cruising I only used 1st,3rd, and 5th -so was a rare occasion when it stopped me from shifting.

Hey thanks, I do love it for sure.
Yeah the mileage is decent if you stay out of it, but that doesn’t happen much lol.
It does have the one-to-four skip shift crap but thankfully the previous owner had already bypassed it.

Missing my autocross race today (n)
Replacing the original dry rotted bushings with Superpro stuff.

Where are you looking for races? Or how are you finding out about them? Want to try some of this in my Camaro.
If you go to scca.com they have a tab for find events near you. Or search to find your nearset local club. Here it is LVRSCCA.
Las vegas region.

Did you put a brake kit on it? Looks like an aftermarket brake caliper mount.

CentexK5. There is an autocross just about every month in the COTA parking lot. SPOKES.com is who runs that. There is also normally an event every month in San Antonio. Plus an event every month in the Houston area. Victoria seems to have a good number as well.

I used to do 10 events a year with the Texas A&M Sports Car Club in my classic Mini and NA Miata. Then the DOD took over the old air base that was a great location in Bryan a few years ago for Defense research projects. I have done an autocross with the Porsche club in Austin. But running in the HEB center parking lot just isn’t all that fun. It does eat expensive tires though.

The 1-4 skip shift B.S. I believe all manual factory hod rods were required to have that annoying feature on manual transmissions. I have it on my 16 Camaro SS, I just put an eliminator on it.

That’s good to know. I’ll look into those. Thanks.

I wrote the above a few hours ago and just got an email from the hill country chapter of the PCA. Their fall autocross is next Saturday at the Travis county expo center. I haven’t done one there so I have no clue if it is going to be a tight first gear only kind of thing or a course for cars to get to the top end of 2nd gear and really wear some tires out in a hurry. Here is the registration link:
