94 Z28 coupe

Ordered from Rock Auto using the code Ramack posted in the vendor thread

With eating the core change it was $100 cheaper than anywhere else
near as I can tell it looks to interchange with all the other mini starters, but the solenoid is offset forward some

@500$k5 have time to talk starters?
Also looking for the correct solenoid for a Hitachi PP106

Finally getting to this. Can reach the hot post from the radiator with 9 extensions. Didnt want to come loose

Ended up pulling the mount bolts and rolling it over to get the wires, then the other way to get it out. Had to pull the converter cover and move the cooler lines, snout up to come out

I had a starter on my freightliner fight me on the hot post, and the starter sits between the 12" tall frame and the side of the engine.
In the end the post broke and the nut did not give in.
Spent 3 hours the get the cable liberated.
Fun times, took me 22 hours to replace that starter

That’s just awful

Finally had more than 2 minutes, so got back into reading about some of the tuning for this car
One of the things that I've always done was considered it against the other 94 we had that had the computer gone through by HyperTech

Some reason I thought I was 4-5 MPH short from that car (it had 4.56 gears, this has 3.23)
went back and averaged the MPH for both, I'm short about 1.5 MPH
I guessing thats about 10-15 HP that I am short

50 shot

@Fastereddie I still never got tunerPro to show me both tables

I did come up with another tune to drop in to this car just to test it. I made it about 5 miles, pulled over reflash the ECM, and went back with the one I had in it most of that had to do with the fact that transmission tables on the new tune didn’t seem to have enough firmness on it.

Because I changed the throttlebody, you have to adjust the force motor lock up versus TPS because you’re leading in a higher percentage of air for the same amount of throttle, so it won’t necessarily lock the transmission up correctly
didn’t wanna burn it up

Went back and manually compared the 2 tunes. I still need to compare the spark maps
I did find another traction control and egr setting to delete
The VE and MAF tables have both been adjusted enough already that I am not going to transfer any of that data
the EEHack program that I've been using is what is reading and making suggestions to those two tables,
so I'm aways ahead of that other tune on those tables
Enough that you can feel it

I did find a Richmond gearset for this for $350 with bearings
I think going to 3.73 is the best plan
would still run 73 mph in OD at 2500
That sounds like a good plan there.

That first gear is kinda lame with a 3.23
