I started watching the ZR2 forums long time ago, that's what motivated me to build this truck. There was a black extended cab truck that was straight axle'd on 37s, later was painted yellow. Big time motivation for me seeing that truck in Four Wheeler Real Truck Challenge.

Is the SAS a kit or custom? The end result looks like a good compromise between street legal and trail ready. :waytogo:

Its all custom, there really isn't much out there for kits. Diversified Creations has a kit to run TJ axles and suspension and there are a couple leaf spring kits but I just did my own thing. I wanted to run coilovers and trail gear creeper joints and have 8 lug axles.

lol, Yeah! I'd have to say, the whole 8 lug axle setup is pretty f***ing sweet. Complete overkill, heavy, initial cost to narrow, but I like it that way. Rocks!!

8 Lugs and H2s on an S10 just looks so right.

I SASd an 89 S10 with YJ axles and leaves (no kit at the time, made my own using Toyota lift springs) but ran 33s. They make good little build platforms.

Nice rig. Looks taller in the first pic. Did you let some preload off the springs or something? Seems like its sitting really perfect in the last shot.

The last pictures were actually before I was finished. I just had everything mocked up on some coils I borrowed.

Update. Trying to rework my original build. I put this together a couple years ago, drove it for a about a year. It wasn't really what I was going for, it ended up too tall. So last week I pulled it back into the shop after receiving new 12" coilovers from Off-road Power Products.

When I built this rig it was originally on 14" coilovers. After I compared overall dimensions of 12 & 14" coilovers I expected to reduce my ride height by 5-6".

So I plugged in the new 12" Fox's and set it back down.

Sitting like this I had no up travel.

Then I cut off the interfering brackets and removed the drag link to try to find a solution to get this lower.

I can set it down pretty low until the webbing of the d44 interferes with the oil pan ... Probably gonna make clearance there.

I'll have to get more pics to illustrate my issues.

Been able to gain some clearance by reworkiing the upper 3rd link mount @ the axle. I had 11" of separation @ the axle before. Gonna go with about 9" separation now.

I haven't completely hacked the factory crossmember out yet. It looks l like the max up travel I can get will have 3" between frame & axle tube ... High steer crossover will not work.

Right now I am thinking of doing "T crossover steering" with a heim where the drag link connects to the tie rod piece.
